I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis 4 years ago. Last year things spiralled out of control but now everything is under control.
Lately I gave noticed I’m suffering fatigue accompanied by heavy odd feeling thighs and walking is difficult as they feel so heavy. I also get a burning tingling on the inside of my ankles. Gp thinks it my statins but I’ve been on them 8 years no problems . I mentioned this on the RA forum and fibromyalgia was mentioned. Do you think this could be a possibility?
Hi, unfortunately the only person who can give you an answer is a health professional. Your symptoms could indicate fibromyalgia, but they could also be due to something else.
It is possible to develop side effects to medication you have been on for several years ... So your gp may be correct, and if this is the case I would assume that coming off or changing medication would improve the symptoms xxx
I have RA and currently I’m in a lot of pain with my legs similar to you but more in my calf’s I literally feel like I have run a marathon or done a 20 mile bike ride. It’s like they feel really hard like I have done a lot of exercise when I haven’t done anything lol . I also suffer with very bad fatigue ☹️
Meds can give us side effects unfortunately , maybe see doc again and seek further advice if this has become troublesome and differently mention the fatigue, one of tablets has made me put on weight.😰. They normally do a series of tests ie bloods if they think it could be fibro, take care xx
