Laporoscopy - what next??
I've had endometriosis removed from my ovary last week via a laproscopy. I haven't had any follow up yet and my gp discharge letter just says " ovary endometriosis diathermy". I was still coming round from the anasthetic when the doctor spoke to me so I'm left wondering what I've had done. I recall the

What Now?
Hi ladies, hope you're all well. I had my first long awaited laparoscopy yesterday and have been diagnosed with endometriosis as expected. My discharge summary says I had areas of active and inactive endometriosis in pouch of Douglas, uterosacral ligaments and UV folds and it was treated with Diathermy

🎉Diagnosis endometriosis 🎉 Almost 5 years ttc 4 ivfs and 1 miscarriage!!!
Yay I have a diagnosis. So I had my laporoscopy yesterday and I had diathermy endometriosis on my left ovary but not on my right where I get the pelvic pain 🤔 which confused me. I'm wondering if it was my right ovary though as my incision on the right hurts but I can't feel the left. Also during scans

Ablation vs excision - does anyone else feel cheated?!
Hi, My story: NHS lap 16th December 2016 confirmed stage 1 endo and "removed" via diathermy. Private healthcare lap 28th March 2017 confirmed STAGE 3 endo (due to not being removed!!!!) spread throughout my entire pelvis and removed PROPERLY via excision. Private surgeon said endo should NEVER be ablated

Post lap recovery
Hi All, I had my first laparoscopy and diathermy on Monday. I was in a lot of pain on Tuesday, mainly caused by the remaining gas in my body. I think much of it has gone, but it is now Sunday and I am still suffering from a pain in my left side, just under my ribcage, as well as headaches. How long

3rd laparoscopy - risks?
Hi everyone, I am nearly 32, diagnosed with stage 3 endo 6 years ago after 10 years undiagnosed symptoms, and have already had 2 laproscopies with excision & diathermy treatment, the last of which was 3 years ago. My symptoms have severely worsened over the last year, despite being put on Cerelle progesterone

Reoccuring pain after excision

It's back again!
Hi everyone Was wondering if anyone has had similar experience to me? I had a lap 18months ago and was diagnosed with grade 2 endo on my uterosacral ligaments, and had diathermy to get rid of what they could see. A couple of months after the op I couldn't believe how much better I felt with no pain

Waiting results of Colposcopy
Hi I have been waiting for the results of a biopsy and Colposcopy for over 3 weeks. The actual test was quite traumatic as the consultant did a "deeper than usual biopsy" then decided on a Loop Diathermy. I am still bleeding even though I have had some pills from the GP that I have been taking for a

How did you feel after your laparoscopy?
Did your pain after your laparoscopy and diathermy improve or were you still in pain after the operation? If you were still in pain after the operation - what did you/the hospital do?

Success story!
After having a lap and removal of endo via diathermy on the 16th Dec, I finally got a phone call from the surgeon yesterday to say that I should now be completely clear of endo and my fertility shouldn't have been affected by it at all! I am over the moon as it's been a long journey of having unbearable

Advice following diathermy of cervix
Hi, first post here. I've recently had a hysterscopy, diagnostic laparoscopy resulting in diathermy of the cervix. When I came round from surgery the gynaecologist said there was no issues with the outside of my womb (yay!) and said that all being well the cauterisation would stop the pain and excessive

It's wasn't all in my head!
Hi guys, Bit of a random post but it's a happy one from me (for once). I am currently 12 days post op (from my 4th laparoscopy - 3rd lap which included removal of endo - as i was told at my 1st lap there was nothing there). My surgery ran over and I was down for some time (between 3.5 - 4 hours), so

3 days post lap with successful endo removal
I am 22 years old and I have been suffering with severe symptoms of endo since October 2015, and on friday (16th Dec) I had my first ever anaesthetic/operation to diagnose and treat. Sometimes I almost feel a little guilty about this - as I know so many women go undiagnosed and un-listened to for years

Endo pain 6 months after lap
Hi, I had a lap done in June where they found mild endo and I had diathermy to remove it and for a good couple of months I felt so much better, not so tired and limited pelvic pain. The last few months however I have had pelvic pain every day! and I am getting back to the exhausted phase again. I am

Feeling confused
Hi all, So on the 8 th of September I had a lap and a few other procedures done. After surgery the consultant popped his head in to say he found a bulky uterus which indicates adenomyosis and 'old, inactive' patches of endo which he burnt away and an adhesion at the back of the vagina. So I had my answers

No better after lap
Well it's been two months since my lap where endo was found and removed with diathermy. However, I'm still having lots of pain and still get a huge swollen abdomen. Has anyone else had the same experience? I almost feel like the lap was pointless as I just feel the same as before :( I suppose the only

Combined or progesterone only pill!?? Confused
Hi, This is probably a silly question but I have both the combined and cerazette pill and I'm planning to try one of them for endo pain at my next period. I don't know which is best to try. I thought if endo is oestrogen dependent then cerazette but it seems many people take the combined and I don't
