Had diagnostic laparoscopy, poor discharge letter & post-op help
I’ve finally had a laparoscopy and I think I’ve had therapeutic treatment (maybe diathermy? No idea) via a private hospital as nhs would make me wait 6 months to a year. I have photos and the consultant explained to me when I came around from GA that I have endometriosis and nodules on my ovaries but

Diagnostic laparoscopy with ablation
Dear All, I have a question following my first appointment at UCLH. I was seen at the gynaecology unit (not the Endometriosis Centre). Diagnosis Anterior Cutaneous Nerve entrapment syndrome?
I had my ovaries removed in February 2020 via laparoscopy. I had had laparascopic diathermy and laser treatment for endometriosis in my 20s and 30s, but eventually taking the progesterone only pill meant I had no periods at all which was a massive result for me and I took them until I was 52. Unfortunately

Bob update (ICD wound revision)
I was in hospital again yesterday. This was scheduled, following the appearance of Bob and a few friends. Bob was the pet name for a pointy lump next to my clavicle and above my ICD. He was at risk of puncturing through the skin. You can learn about Bob's appearance (or if you are a bit more hip, [i]

Ultrasounds/MRIs - My experience and why you need to advocate for yourself if they don’t show Endo!
Controversial take here on ultrasounds and MRIs, but I responded to another users query with the below info, and wanted to share it more widely as I think more people need to challenge their doctors when they are told the scans didn't show anything but you are still in pain. I was diagnosed with severe

Late period after laparoscopy
I had my laparoscopy two weeks ago, they found endo and a load of adhesions so performed diathermy. My period is now 4 days late. I did a pregnancy test at the hospital before the op. Did anyone else experience a late period after surgery? They told me the first period after the surgery would be bad

Feeling a bit lost after being ditched by hospital/GP after surgery/diagnosis
I'd been having symptoms for about a decade (and I have some other health conditions), but I finally got a referral to a gynaecologist last year and I had a laparoscopy on 27th May 2022 which the consultant came to me afterwards and said that she had found a couple of patches of endometriosis that she

Post Op Incisions - normal sounding or not?
Hi all, I finally got my lap 13 days ago after being on the waiting list for over a year. They did find endo and used diathermy (I don't know much beyond that until post op consult next month) I'm just wondering at the moment about the incisions. I was fortunate enough to only have two. The lower one

laparoscopy findings-what’s your thoughts?
Hi endo warriors. I had a laparoscopy last week and my results/follow up chat today with my consultant. Basically the background has been chronic pain and bowel issues for over 2 1/2 years and was referred to a gynaecologist in summer 2019. Scans etc showed fibroids and one pedunculated (4cm) of which

Stage 1 endo burnt out and still hurting! Why?
Hey I wonder if I could get a bit of perspective from those who have been through the mill with endo. When I awoke from my laparoscopy over 19 days now, my consultant said that he only found a small area of active endo and an old bit of endo and got rid of both with diathermy and that by the time he

Return of pain
Hi everyone, I hope you are all well. So I had laparoscopy in November where I was diagnosed with endo. She ‘treated’ the endo with diathermy in my pelvis and on my cervix. I have to say, my daily pain has reduced but when I have a flare up or a period, I feel like the pain is worse than ever. I had

New to this
Hi everyone, I’m completely new to endometriosis I was surprised I had it after my laparoscopy last week. I was diagnosed with mild to moderate superficial endometriosis, which was treated with diathermy. I’ve been advised to go on the Mirena coil or progesterone only pill (my mum had breast cancer

Help!
I got a lap in September 2019 which confirmed endo on my ovaries, pelvic side walls and both sides of my bowel with some lesions. My surgeon excised most of the endo, except for some on my left ovary which she burned using diathermy. I also got the mirena put in. After surgery, I had no pain and I was

Overwhelmed. Is this endo related? Bowel issues
I was diagnosed with endometriosis 4 years ago and had diathermy. It took me a while to recover but my symptoms improved a lot and I would say they have generally been mild the last 3 years. In the last few months I’ve been having a lot of problems though - regular nausea, sometimes vomiting in the
