How did you feel after your laparoscopy?

Did your pain after your laparoscopy and diathermy improve or were you still in pain after the operation? If you were still in pain after the operation - what did you/the hospital do?

Hi. I was still in pain after diathermy (ablation) and now know that's really not the best way to treat endo. Excision is much better. So I'm now on list for excision surgery at a bsge clinic. Diathermy tends to only burn off top layer of endo and leaves behind deep infiltrating so it just keeps growing hence your pain continues

Therefore I'd say get your Gp to refer you to a bsge clinic and say you want excision not diathermy this time as you're still in pain.

Thank you. I have my follow up appointment at the hospital next week as my op was only done in October - I'll see what they say :)

Is that a general gynae? They may well tell you it's something else now but keep fighting your corner. Good luck.

Yeah just general. I'm getting a lot of symptoms where they would find endo on the pouch of Douglas but my report from hospital isn't that good - need to find out if & what they have actually checked. Just concerned if they haven't got a note of what they actually did.

Try to get referred over to a bsge centre if you can. GP can do that.
