Hi. I had a laparoscopy after finding out that I had a large ovarian cyst on my left ovary. It measured 10cm (the size of a grapefruit!) I had my surgery last Tuesday so 1 week today! When they went in for the surgery the cyst was gone (I couldn’t believe it when she told me!) It had burst & dispersed itself so the surgeon cleaned up the pelvis. She also removed endometriosis from both of my ovaries & the left pouch. Luckily my ovaries were left in tact! I’m really pleased with the result especially considering they could have ended up removing my left ovary if the cyst had still been attached! Anyway, I just wanted to know (& I know it’s different for everyone!) how long the pelvic pain lasts or lasted for anyone who’s had a laparoscopy? I still have pain across the middle of my tummy & particularly on my left side. It’s still uncomfortable getting up & down, but I can feel pressure pain all the time. Vaginal bleeding has gone now & bloating has gone down a bit. Feeling stronger everyday, but the pain is still there. I have tried upping my walking a little bit. but it does aggravate the pain. Incision sights look ok. As I say I am only 1 week post surgery. I can’t wait to be all healed so me & my husband can start trying for a baby. I hope this operation improves our chances & helps settled down my ongoing endometriosis symptoms

Tummy pain after laparoscopy
Hi I'm so glad your surgery went well! It took me two weeks for the pain to die down, but even after three weeks I still felt uncomfortable at times. Just give yourself lots of rest, good luck trying for your family xxxx
wow, your experience almost mirrors mine. I’m so sorry to hear your endomitrioma burst, but so happy to hear your ovary was still in tact and you have the same feeling of gratitude and relief that I do!
I am now 11 days post op. My r ovary had a 7cm 4 and 3cm, the prognosis was that it would be removed but luckily amazing surgeon managed to salvage it. My right tube however was taken, left ovary unstuck and patency of tube appears to be good, left ovary fine. I also had surgery on pouch, with deep adhesions to rectum and bowel.
I am still taking recovery at a snails pace as day 8 after a walk, I had significant pain near my right ovary (same pain as I had before) it did make me panic, so I went back to lying flat, reading, watching telly and sleeping lots. I figured that the healing internally should match my incision speed, at the moment, they are still quite fresh. I think mindset key for me is, I have to take the healing super slow.
Best of luck as your embark on your fertility journey post op. I can recommend an amazing booking my husband and I have been reading, it’s called it’s starts with the egg. Baring in mind my right ovary has been through so much (like yours have too with a massive endometrioma!), I wanted to be informed on vitamins I needed to take to boost quality of my eggs. I am on folate, coq10 and various multivitamins including vitamin d. For us we aim to start trying again in April after years of struggles and not knowing what was wrong. Endo is really so debilitating so at least we know now what we are working with.
I feel apprehensive and excited at same time. Best of luck to you, and so much love. Take it slow, and what an amazing forum that I was able to read an experience that resonated! Slow and steady X
