Result of CT angiogram

Heard back from the rapid access chest pain clinic and they confirmed I have a mild to moderate blockage of my coronary arteries. They requested my doctor prescribe amlopidine and aspirin - so more medication! I'm not sure about the aspirin as I've had a stomach ulcer in the past and also bleed very easily. I've suffered with horrible nosebleeds off and on for years.

The clinic advised I be monitored closely with the new drugs as I already take blood pressure medication as well as everythingelse. Got a phone call from the surgery to say my GP will ring me in 3 weeks to see how I'm getting on.

Chased up the respiratory clinic to see when I might get my first appointment. Now got one for end of September. That's 5 months after the consultants letter telling me I had lung scarring as well as emphysema. The NHS website for my area says first appointment waiting time averages 10 weeks. The clinics must be really busy.

Seems forever to wait for him to explain what he means by "its significance and surveillance/maintenance".

Ah well - must keep positive. My prescription list now goes on to 3 pages!

I'm glad they found the blockage and will monitor it. I had an undetected blockage10 years ago, which showed itself in a heart attack. They gave me a bypass and now I'm as good as new, except for the scar running down my décolleté. It's bad that you have to wait so long for the respiratory appointment. Fingers crossed that that they can fit you in sooner.

So good that they found the blockage at least they will now treat and monitor you. Long waiting times are normal for us now and can't see them getting any better x

Good to hear that you’re gradually getting sorted. I’m waiting to go to ENT and received a letter yesterday saying how far behind they were with their appointments since COVID. I’ve been waiting a few months. Had to fill in an online form to say whether I still needed to be seen.

Hopefully your respiratory appointment may be sooner. Xx
