DCIS, Lumpectomy and Rheumatoid Arthritis
I had a lumpectomy just under three months ago following a diagnosis of DCIS after a routine mammogram. It was barely detectable so although I don't feel particularly lucky, I know I was lucky to have it discovered early. The surgery was successful in removing the cancer with a clear margin. Because

Enlarged Lymph Nodes
Whilst awaiting elbow replacement surgery, I was more recently added to surgery list for shoulder replacement also. Shoulder required a CT scan as well as x-ray which I had on Tuesday. On Wednesday, the Surgeon's Nurse Practitioner phoned to say I needed another CT scan of thorax, abdomen and pelvis

4 months after laparoscopy pain comes back
hi all, it's my first post here... i had a laparoscopy in April, stage 2 endometriosis, couple of cysts (one excised, one drained). I had the hormonal Mirena coil inserted during the surgery as I was told this is the best solution to prevent endo from coming back. First two months were full of spotting

Ongoing Care
Hi all, Hope you’re all having a pain free day! I received good news today, three weeks post lap, biopsies confirmed endo and nothing sinister. Isn’t it strange considering the diagnosis good news - it is though after years of ‘there’s nothing wrong’. I’ve now been discharged back to the care of

Lung nodules are growing 😩
Hello ladies I am 5 weeks since bowel obstruction surgery and doing well. I ended up in A & E again earlier this week with chest pain on my right side & right shoulder. The hotline said I need it checked as could be a clot. I spent 8 long hours there, sooo busy, to be told 2 nodules in my left lung

does anyone else get frustrated with their GP surgery!!
saw the physio today for the 3rd time about my swollen knee/pain. He’s discharged me from that service and back to the GP for injections or a scan. I’ve repeatedly said I don’t want injections without knowing what the exact problem is. What bit don’t they understand! Every time I’ve seen the physio

ECG on propranolol or should I stop it
I hope someone can help me double check this please. I'm due to have an ECG in a few weeks and wondering if I should stop my propranolol before it? I had an ECG in March which showed sinus tachycardia but didn't have many symptopms at the time so the GP decided to redo the ECG a few months later nd see

I’ve been on prednisone for three years and have gradually reduced amount so I’m now taking one mg every four days. I’ve had little or no input from gp or rheumatologist but have managed by following advice from amazing people here. I finally got to see a rheumatologist last month and she agreed I could

co-amilofruse
Hoping someone can give some advice. My partner had a double CABG eight weeks ago. After the surgery he was put on co-amilofruse, to be reviewed at his follow-up with the surgeon. Prior to the surgery he was on furosemide. We understand that co-amilofruse is a diuretic and will obviously cause him

Pharmacist Heart Failure Review
Today I received a text from my GP Surgery asking me to book an annual heart failure review with a pharmacist. In the 6 years since my HA and HF diagnosis this has always been done by a doctor. Does anyone have any experience of this? I feel well. I take my medication, do my exercise and am careful

Should I expect a face to face follow up after lap surgery?
on the 17th of May I had diagnostic lap surgery. When I came round, the constant that performed the op came and showed me some pictures and chatted to me v briefly. I cannot remember much of the conversation. I was given a discharge letter that listed many issues (stage 4 endo) and a list of things that

Knee replacement and Parkinson's
Husband with Parkinson's getting steadily worse now, particularly balance/walking. Diagnosed 5 years ago, probably had it 3/4 years previously. The problem is that he now needs total knee replacement for both knees. We have a very long awaited appointment with Neurology nurse in October to discuss
