Ceasing Apixaban
I am due for knee joint replacement surgery. Can anyone relate their experience with stopping and starting Apixaban before and after the operation. I also take Ramipril, will I need to stop this for a while?. Thanks

Circumcision in 2 days
Hey, I’m having the cut done in 2 days and am terrified to say the least but I’ve made the decision and I’m doing it. So… can anyone help with ways to reduce sensitivity in the first few days? I was due to have this done about a year ago but the anesthetist decided to postpone because of a fear

EOD on the NHS?
I went for my first 4 weekly B12 injection at my GP surgery today. I was expecting some push back from the nurse but she gave the jab willingly. I asked if many people are getting 4 weekly or more frequent injections. Just 1. Me! I’m a bit of a novelty as everyone else is on 8 or 12 weeks. This

update on SIBO and antibiotics
firstly thank you so much for all your comments because you gave me the confidence to start the rifamixin course. I am now on day 5 of 3 x 550gm tabs daily for 10 days. Yesterday was my first fairly ok day in ages so I’m beginning to hope I may get some relief, which will be wonderful. My gastro report

Misdiagnosis
I am reasonably new to this site and have found it incredibly useful and informative. However, I recently received a bombshell, in that I have possibly been misdiagnosed with AF. I visited my GP at the end of September in 2023 with severe palpitations and given three ECGs. Two of these were viewed by

Meds & raised blood sugar
My 86 year old brother, who has heart failure, was found at a routine blood test to have raised blood sugar in the prediabetic range. In response to this, he received a standard letter from the practice with the website of diabetes UK to consult for info. He can't use the internet and I was concerned

Pre diabetes update , raised uric acid,
About 2 weeks ago I had some blood tests at the GP surgery , received a text telling me I was pre diabetic and offering me to join a program to make health choices etc. I was shocked, so was my GP. She went through my history, current rehab, nutrition etc and thought the result was a false positive.

Painkiller for after Dental Procedure
So next week I’m going to my dental surgery to get three tooth implants. The first session is when they drill metal rods into the bone. Once the local anaesthetic wears off it’s very painful. I’ve had one done before now this time three at once!! Last time I didn’t know about my CKD so as I can’t take

Compressions
HelloI am 9 weeks post TKR in right knee and I think I might have a problem with my Compressions. I have lower leg Lymphoedema and my left leg was always worst for swelling. Since my knee surgery, my right leg is swelling more. Obviously, this would be partly due to the surgery but when I wear my compression
