4 months after laparoscopy pain comes back

hi all, it's my first post here... i had a laparoscopy in April, stage 2 endometriosis, couple of cysts (one excised, one drained). I had the hormonal Mirena coil inserted during the surgery as I was told this is the best solution to prevent endo from coming back. First two months were full of spotting/bleeding/cramps which I understood to be a part of recovery/adjusting to coil. Then it all eased off. I was so happy, I thought it's the end of horrible pain. I had my 3 months' check up, I flagged spotting and light bleeding. The doctor said to wait 6 months from the surgery to see if it stabilises but told me that I should not be bleeding to prevent relapse and I should consider extra hormones if it doesn't improve.

Very soon after my appointment I started bleeding more with clots and I hurt almost every day. It feels like a strangling wire is closing inside me + lower back pain. It is intense but not as bad as prior to surgery. Could it mean that my endo has grown back already? Could it be so soon? Feeling desperate... I am worried that the level of hormone wasn't enough for me and it got messed up... During my waiting time for laparoscopy I was put on progestogen pill only and it was five months that I had bleeding or spotting 90% of time... At some point I got a prescription for tranexamic acid but have been told I can't use it daily for longer period so when I didn't take 6 pills a day I kept bleeding.

Have you had similar experience? I've requested a phone call/appointment but haven't heard back for three weeks now. I am worried that as I am waiting the disease is progressing and I will need another surgery.

Hi

I haven’t used the coil so can’t really help there, from the forum it works for some but not others, if you do a search you might find info.

Definitely chase up the query/appointment though, really important to get some advice. It might be worth asking for a scan, check things out.

Hope you get sorted soon
