Reducing pred while on antibiotics
My question is should we wait till this has cleared up before reducing the
steroids
? We have next appointment with rheumatologist on Tuesday.

Round after round of
steroids
and antibiotics which work but then it comes back again. At least I don’t feel as unwell as I did but can’t understand why it keeps happening. I’ve has further tests and a ct scan and thankfully all clear but shows signs of infection mid right lung.

Update #7: Adrenals & Insulin
Steroids
are known for increasing blood glucose - it is a large part of the role of cortisol - but I would obviously need to avoid it going too high. I hope my insulin sensitivity will normalise once my thyroid medications are optimised.

Pes Anserine Bursitis - steroid injection offered.
On Thursday I had an appointment with a rheumatologist who had previously been quite impatient and dismissive of me. I made up my mind to give him the briefest details of my woes over the last 9 months. (This is a 6 monthly appointment 😂). He was happy for me to continue with my slow tapering and then

Exercise
Having just started on
steroids
2 weeks ago, I have been wondering about exercise in helping recovery. Any recommendations on how much to do?What type of exercise has helped you? Do you have a daily routine?

Eczema
Hello! My 18-week old daughter was diagnosed with baby eczema last month. Her dad has eczema too. We have been on and off the steroid cream since :( Any tips on how to manage it and what has worked best for your little ones? I am off dairy, eggs and soy, also gluten-intolerant so no wheat and oats either

Still waiting
My
steroids
are being tapered down so pain levels are high. I’m hoping that the new dose will still kick in, but RA helpline nurse says that at my nxt appt in 2 weeks, they will look at adding another drug in. What is everyone’s experience of the combined drugs?

Correct level of Pred?
Seems he wants me off
steroids
asap. GP feels 1mg per month slowly from 10mg is way forward. Having read everything I can, I can see that is the approach and what I’ll be working towards. However, I don’t know if I’m ready to work towards 9mg.

What a start with V+O
Benadryl and
steroids
to the rescue just like day 1! Two days later I go in for blood work and find out the following. My hemoglobin crashed from 9.0 to 7.4 . I was given a blood transfusion (one unit).

Inhaler allergies
My asthma has now got out of control with many exacerbations, resulting in oral
steroids
around 30 times over 8yr period with long term side effects, but that's another story.

Adrenal insufficiency
I am on a reducing regime of prednisolone via my rheumatologist due to long term problems the
steroids
have caused. However I notice I have tremors in hands weak legs and blurred vision on the slightest use of any energy used. Even just walking because pain is a big problem for me.

Pressure in rectum
For the most part I have been ok, with a few bad flares over the years treated with
steroids
. Lately I have been flaring more, bloods always fine, never any blood in my stools, but always have mucus and low left sided pain. Last 2 calprotectin tests have been elevated in the 800s.
