Covid recovery and steroids
using the dsns method I had got down to 0.5 mg
steroids
in December but then I got covid. The first symptoms that I experienced were like a pmr flare. I increased the
steroids
to 5 mg . After two weeks of slow recovery I then went rapidly downhill and went to the doctor.

Steam inhaler recommendation
On the mend now with help of antibiotics and
steroids
. I have COPD and Asthma and for the past couple of years if I get a bad cold or some virus it always goes to my chest and Sinus and I end up struggling and needing antibiotics and
steroids
to recover.

Tapering experience
Maybe it takes a much larger dose of
steroids
to bring it under control and a slower taper to manage the ongoing illness. I appreciate your thoughts.

Not a flare
good morning everyone Last week I posted about hip pain and possible flare and asked for advice re
steroids
. I took the advice of the wise people who replied to me and saw a doctor, he put me on antibiotics and
steroids
, was obviously far more concerned about the cough and breathlessness.

intralipids or steroids for final embryo!
We are going to introduce blood thinning injections,
steroids
and or possibly intralipids. However this is an NHS round so we are only allowed to add these in on a self funded basis after transfer.

methotrexate
Rheumy wants to add methotrexate as need to get off
steroids
due to osteoporosis. I read all the leaflet last night and scared myself to death! Has anyone got experience to share of this drug particularly side effects.

NK cells and pcos -steroids or hydroxychloroquine?
Reading about the
steroids
a side effect is insulin resistance which I already have and am predisposed to both gestational diabetes and type 2 diabetes due to my PCOS and also a family history.

Post Moderna covid vaccination
I am on 5mg
steroids
and 12.5 methotrexate. I am due to reduce
steroids
at the end of the week to 4.5 mg. Has any one else had this issue and if so how long before it starts to fade? The sleep issue is worse than any time during my G.C.A.

CLL, Alcalabrutinib, Low Testosterone
The
steroids
they gave me for gout made such a difference, i felt normal for 5 days. I asked for
steroids
but was refused due to the risk of side effects. Told my GP Doctor about the fatigue and he sent me for a blood test this is how the low T was identified.

Hi I have PMR ( diagnosed in April this year ) My rheumatologist gave me a steroid injection 3 weeks ago in shoulder for pain ( she was reluctant for me to go back on oral preds because I’m diabetic type 2 ) Anyway the
steroids
reduced the pain for a short while . Then it was agony !

A thank you to this site
I resisted
steroids
for almost 6 months and worked on diet and alternative treatments. Eventually I realised that
steroids
were the only route! Reading through my notes reminded me of how helpful this site was on my steroid journey. I came off
steroids
in June 2018 and have had no relapse.

Minor surgery and pred
I was told that 5 was the magic number they were interested but am wondering if they just ignore the
steroids
all together lower than 5. I will be flourishing that steroid treatment card for sure! Just to be on the safe side.

My consultant is happy to prescribe

, clexane and aspirin without the text which is so much cheaper. Wondered if anyone else has done this and got a BFP?

methotrexate advice
I’ve been on
steroids
for six months since being diagnosed with PMR. I’ve had a lot of difficulties with them and have been referred to rheumatology. The consultant is going to try me on methotrexate. I’d be grateful for any tipis, suggestions, advice from anyone who has tried methotrexate.
