Update on Rheumy visit
I also asked about adrenals and she said that was another reason to reduce quicker as longer she is on
steroids
the harder it will be for her adrenals to waken up.

I’m back😁. Used to be Dtech.
So immediate put me on oral
steroids
, which gave me relief from major pain within days and paid for ultrasound guided injection in the hip. Within a couple of days I’m now pretty pain free and walking again building up strength in the right side and practicing walking without limping!

PMR and Breast Pain
I was diagnosed with GCA in 2016 and after many failed attempts managed to gradually reduce the
steroids
. Recently, I was diagnosed with PMR and am currently taking 10mg prednisolone. I have an ache from under my arms down into the side of both breasts. The left aside is worse than the right.

Too low or adrenals struggling?
My partner has been on
steroids
for 3 years, reducing slowly from 20mg with no flares (he's 72 and before pmr was able to join me on 5 to 6 mile walks in the Dales). He is on the last week of a 7 week taper from 3.5mg to 3mg.

Alternatives to steroids for PMR
But what I really wanted to ask is if anyone has any experience / views on alternatives to
steroids
. Since I'm waiting so long to get a referral to a rheumatolgist, I'm thinking I might as well try some alternative stuff in the meantime.

best way to reduce Prednisolone
However, my diagnosis has recently been changed to MS and advised to definitely come of
Steroids
. Fatigue is a massive problem for me. I am currently on 5mg of Pred daily but have just had opposite views from 2 Doctors about Prednisolone reduction.

flare?
So far this year I’ve had two lots of antibiotics for the ensuing chest infection, and
steroids
( 5 days at 40 mg). In between these extra doses I have dropped back to the 1 mg dose that I was on before. One week ago I decided to pick up my dsns tapering regime, tapering from 1 to 1/2 mg.

Patroleum Jelly as a protective barrier for the clitoris and inner lips (away from vagina opening) while healing from an abrasion/cut/burn?
In addition, I have then been asked to put
steroids
there, thrush creams, sudacrem. All which made it worse over the following 7/8. I’m now 9 week into this struggle, and I really want to leave the area to heal on its own.

Wasting—losing muscle mass
I am tapering
steroids
(arms and legs good and bruised). But I understand
steroids
can cause wasting. Any thoughts on what causes wasting and what to do about it? I lift weights 2-3 x a week. Thank you, friends.

bfp then hcg levels went from 530 to 350. Is it all over? My clinic said it's a MC. Even though this was a natural conception post ivf
But the clinic said not to take any
steroids
or lubion progesterone ( only started them 2 days ago but found out I had lower hcg levels yesterday evening. I've not had a bleed yet had spotting which was one off then gone. No cramps etc or back pain.

Cortisol result help in interpreting please
Cortisol levels will rise briefly after eating, and also rise in response to stress and in those taking
steroids
(even as creams or asthma inhalers). Correlation with a serum sample taken around 9am would be useful. Repeat 24 hour collection also could be considered to check for consistency.'
