KIDNEY Transplant: Hello everyone i just... - Kidney Transplant
KIDNEY Transplant
Welcome to your new world getting a transplant is one of the greatest things that can happen and I am happy for your. I don’t have the answer for your puffiness in your eyelids. From my experience only, I had small accumulations of fluid as I recovered. Give your self some time for your body to adjust to your new kidney. Check with the doctor he can enlighten you. Enjoy your new life and take care of your self and you will take care of your new kidney.
Congratulations on your wonderful GIFT OF LIFE! To me it sounds like you are retaining some fluid. I would definitely check with your transplant team/nephrologist regarding this. I would also weigh yourself when you get up every morning. Keep track. When your eyes are puffy did your notice some weight gain? even 2-5 pounds? What about your ankles/feet? Are they puffy too?
After my transplant (in 1999) I also had some issues with fluid retention. With time, it resolved. But you need to check with your doctor because the cause could be something else. Best of luck to you!
