I’m unable to take
statins
having tried several I landed up with rhabid( whatever the word is) loosing muscle and feeling very poorly. I have been prescribed estemibe. I have stomache problems with all the heart meds and I have persisted with estemibe because I’ve got genetic high cholesterol.

High cholesterol and Stage 3 CKD
Has anyone else had experience in taking
statins
whilst having CKD? I know that having high cholesterol is not good as it can cause heart attacks and strokes but I'm wondering whether, with a bit more exercise and careful eating, I can reduce it naturally? Grateful for your thoughts. Lynne

Hypothyroidism
GP prescribed
statins
for high cholesterol, antihistamine for swelling and told me to take gaviscon for acid reflux! After multiple appointments with my symptoms I decided to go down the private route as my gut was telling me something wasn’t right!

So anyhow, had a check up today, all ok, bad cholesterol a bit high but I have been given new

with an added extra to help combat this.

Statins with an under active thyroid.
The NHS website says you don't give
statins
to people with an under active thyroid. Strangely, they haven't considered that my BP and inflammation are also elevated. Also, I keep crashing physically, have muscle weakness and joint pain.

Hypothyroid for 18 years. Discovered high cholesterol recently. Can I start using plant sterols alongside Thyroxine??
Trying my best not to be put on
statins
if I possibly can, or BP meds. Has anyone tried Plant Sterols like 'OKSterol' powders, alongside Thyroxine, is this safe?? Thank you.

Why would my FT4 change?
I have been asked to come in and discuss my blood results with the GP, my cholesterol is also elevated but I do not want to take
statins
. My FT4 was 10 and I am taking 120mg a day of NDT, they did not measure TSH. What is an "ideal" FT4 level whilst on medication. Thanks D

medichecks results different from GP
March in order to get some information other than the GP test who wanted to reduce my Levo and put me on
Statins
. I take 100mcg daily and feel well on this dosage, when I was on 75mcg, I felt lethargic and not myself. The new results are CRP HS. 1.510 mg/L.
