Polyunsaturated fats v saturated fats
My GP wanted me to go on
statins
because my total cholesterol is 6.6 I said no as my ratio was 2.5 and was told years ago this was brilliant. I have good hdl which outweighs my ldl but I'm afraid if I change to saturated fats this could clog my arteries

Advice needed.
He's on various medication for blood pressure, blood thinners and
statins
. He was took to A and E Tues. They suspected a small heart attack as his troponin level was slightly raised. He has fluid on the lungs and between the lining and chest wall. No infection.

T3 looks low to me! I have a goitre....help please.
I did some research and found that cholesterol levels were raised with thyroid problems and said I would not take
Statins
until thyroid sorted out. GP says all levels' normal' - I question T3 but don't know what to do next. I'm having to wait until 18th April for scan. Other symptoms too.

MCTD diagnosis, finally!
He wanted to treat me with
statins
, which I have not bought or taken. I'm well aware of what will ensue, especially since my body is going mental dealing with the inflammation.

Blood tests
I was told by my GP that this could be because of the
statins
I am on so she recommended that I come off these and have a blood test again in a months time. So in December I had blood tests and was told that my ALT had normalised.

Statins! Oh the pain
Hi I have been on
statins
since having my HA in late August in Turkey on holiday. I was put on Turkish drugs and apart from fatigue I was fine on these. I have since been on Atorvstatin 80mg but I have suffered really badly with aching legs and arms.

He asked if I was on
statins
, starting them later in the week. He said ideally I would like to send you to Neurology but there is about a 12 month wait, no surprise there then. I said Iām happy to pay, to which he replied, Iām going to refer you to the older persons department!

Interaction between aspirin and pred.
The doctor also prescribed
statins
, glyceryl nitrate spray and aspirin. Although it's not listed specifically Corticosteroids are mentioned as a medicine that the aspirin may affect. Does anyone have any experience of this or have any knowledge what the effect could be.

Atorvastatin + Asprin
I completed my first week of
Statins
and Asprin, and I have to say I feel awful. I am getting an array of side effects. I'm sure some of you had this but I wanted to know do these calm down as your body adjusts or is it wise to call my doctor Monday and ask for a change.
