Statins
Have a read of the leaflets that come with the medication that describe side effects but wind and digestive problems are likely to be side effects with some people. Worth chatting to your GP or pharmacist to see if there has been adverse reaction or if there are alternatives
We are all different, so medications cause different reactions and the wind could basically be anything you are taking. The lethargy might be down to the Bisoprolol and it may also cause anxiety. When I was on 3.75mg I had awful feelings of impending doom. I'm now fine on 1.25mg, but have to keep a check on it as my pulse often drops into the high 40s.
Given the issues you are having, I would discuss the matter with your GP. A slight change in dosage might make all the difference.
I am currently having a break from Atorvastatin (decided by my doctor) while a possible side-effect of Achilles Heel is investigated. I have noticed a marked reduction in wind during the night, which was causing me sleep interruptions
I'd query why you're on the meds. Warfarin is a given if you have a Mech Valve, but, unless you have other underlying problems, in my experience Bisoprolol is normally only on a temporary basis following surgery. Likewise with a Statin, why are you on it?
I have just read Heedio61's comment. I find it strange that you are on Bisopril and Statins. When I had my aortic valve replaced 35 years ago all I was prescribed (other than post operative pain relief) only Warfarin for life, nothing else. I am still very much alive and well and active too. Please question this.
Just to reinforce one point. Whatever your problems there is a base line. You are correct in thinking that a mechanical valve brings with it Warfarin for life. With bisoprolol it requires careful dosing, and you must NEVER stop it except under medical supervision.
