Your GP should be arranging for an annual test and reviewing the results, but Boots used to offer lipid tests. However in my view if your cholesterol is about 3 there is no real need to get anything other than an annual check as you are well within the recommendations, unless there have been major changes to your overall health and a significant deterioration in the lipid reducing lifestyle measures you are undertaking like diet and exercise. So I suggest you contact your GP surgery in the first instance and ask for a blood test and see what they say.
I would check what your cholesterol levels are meant to be seeing as you are on what’s called secondary treatment (statins). I posted recently about this as I received my cholesterol results back and thought they were exceptional , apparently not , just normal at 2.4.
The targets are lower if we are on statins .
From the BHF site
“If you are getting secondary prevention treatment for your heart condition, you may have different LDL-cholesterol and non-HDL cholesterol levels to aim for. The guidelines say you should aim for :
LDL cholesterol level of 2.0mmol or less.
Non-HDL cholesterol level of 2.6mmol or less. “
