What about those of us who genuinely cannot tolerate Statins
I would like to hear about people like myself who cannot
take
and been told by the hospital post triple bypass I cannot tolerate any of them. I am in my 3 rd year post op and wonder how long I have got. My blood test a few months ago said no further action needed .

has anyone managed to talk sense into their GP when reviewing medication for hashimotos in the UK?
She spoke to the GP who had reduced my levo dose who said I need to take
statins
! Luckily I've had this condition for years and have done my own research and refused the
statins
and asked her to look into other causes of high cholestrol like for example hashimotos!

Foods to avoid after heart attack and stent fitted
I'm on aspirin, clopidogrel, beta blockers, BP tablets and
statins
. I know to avoid grapefruit juice, and recently found out about avoiding cranberry juice as well. I've also read conflicting information about avoiding greens like sprouts, cabbage and cauliflower. Also bananas and tomatoes?

Dry throat
Hi everyone, Firstly thank you to everyone who replied to my post earlier this year when I started on
statins
. I felt very supported. I’ve not had any of the side effects listed on the info sheet with the tablets.

Thyroid problems and cholesterol
Hi I’ve been hypothyroid for over thirty years I’ve had to stop
Statins
yet again because of severe side effects, I was onRosuvastatin for 5 months. Noticed extensive muscle pain on top of chronic back and sciatic pain. No energy felt like you was dying.

Early 40s and been diagnosed with very early stage atherosclerosis
I guess the hardest thing for me is, there are no further scans, I'll be put on
statins
and it's then just fingers crossed, if symptoms arise then they'll be dealt with then. But the first symptom could be dropping dead.

Calcium scoring CT scan .. family related history
Read all the pros/cons/opinions about
statins
… everyone has a different story or experience, but for me its a no brainer .. it’s literally the only additional thing I can add to my armoury and 3 weeks in, I’m not noticing any side effects.

Statin side effects
Hubby on
statins
following HA and stent fitted three years ago. Has been experiencing for last three months really bad thigh muscle pain and cramping. Reading the medical leaflet with his statin wondering if this is a side effect.

Thoughts on Dr. Malcolm Kendrick?
But his views on
statins
and preventive medicine seem sensible. Any thoughts? I have had numerous negative side effects from any
statins
I have tried and had a dreadful time on Bisoprolol - which I have discontinued. Thanks!

Taken the antivirals
Their pharmacist also called to check other meds and advised to stop
statins
for 8 days. I was pleased that both doctor and pharmacist were able to see my GP record as my CNS for the ET sends copies of her reports to the GP.

Help with blood results please!
My point to my GP is that while
statins
would lower my cholesterol, they would do nothing to alleviate other symptoms. Is there any chance at all that T3 added to my Levo would help any/all of these symptoms? Many thanks in advance, ArtySally.

Statin - Side Effects
I only check in here every few days as it is all very repetitive particularly on
statins
. Yes a minute percentage get side effects yet despite numerous posts on the subject often replied to by stalwarts of the forum people do not seem to get that there are endless combinations of statin and dose.
