Anyone struggling with breathlessness due to Myocarditis? Doc took me off statins for the moment because of leg pain so I'm only taking Ramipril for now ..I'm 5 weeks in

Morning croggler, I do, it's an awful illness as many people on here will tell you. I take colchicine and omeprazol. I was diagnosed in October but had symptoms much longer - chest pain and shortness of breath when walking especially uphill and going up the stairsI'm having a 2nd cardio MRI in 2 weeks, hoping there's no long term damage🤞

Hope you feel better soon ❤

Yes, I struggled for a while and just brushed it off but had an episode of chest & arm pain so went to a& e..I've had an MRI but not got results yet..Have you been off work since October? Yes I agree it's not very nice at all & hope you start feeling more like yourself soon 😊

I went back to work early January, desk and home based, but had a virus and temperature this week that knocked me back a bit🙄 Fingers crossed for your MRI

Hi, I had Myocarditis with pericarditis 4 years ago. I have some permanent damage to my heart. Ive changed my job, working part time now and Ive slowed down!I get breathless walking up stairs or any incline but can walk easily on the flat. Ive adapted to the new me and still enjoy lots of things but its different. Previously Imight have kayaked for 3/4hours on a river trip but last year i did a lovely gentle paddle board session for 25mins and was VERY pleased with myself!

Pace yourself in these early days, but it will get better 👍🏽

Thanks for your reply . Still waiting to see cardiologist but the MRI was leaning towards hypertrophic cardiomyopathy as well as myocarditis, so it’s a waiting game to get the facts now. Still suffering bouts of breathlessness, especially on inclines. Glad you’re feeling better & managing to do more . Onwards & upwards hey 👌

I think I have this condition but won’t get absolute confirmation till next week. No heart attack tho , chest pain & left arm pain & triponin levels high. I think it’s quite common tho . Will know more next week

The consultant still isn’t sure if I have cardiomyopathy or myocarditis. She’s making me another appointment for an MRI asap but she also said I may never know which it was . I hope you are going on ok
