Ok lets get the tabs out of the way, Stilton 40mg Pred, also statins and blood thinners, done.

Been noticing recently ( by the way I have flat foot ) which is on my left which is also the same leg as my total knee replacement. Apart from walking round looking like Michael Flattly ( river dance man) I have noticed that my knee keeps giving way causing me to well kinda trip which is not painful but flipping annoying ( adding to the river dance scenario). anybody experiencing the same thing /??? Also banged my thigh yesterday which has ballooned ( which to be fair looks quite impressive although one fat leg and one thin leg is not a good look ), again is this normal whilst on Pred`s .

Apart from the above allis good and waiting to see the rheumatologist next month.

By the way Spain has lovely blue skies, sorry.

What exactly do you mean by "flat foot"?

And when you say "ballooned" - is it bruised or just swollen? Is it tender? Is there any swelling around your foot and ankle?

foot drop, I knew there was a F in the word, foot drop. The knee replacement was some 2years ago, and up till the PMRGCA malarky everything was going splendid, walking was pain free, cycling was the same as was swimming, running was more of an apologetic jog, but none the less a jog.

The thigh is both bruised and swollen and may I say bloody tender ( the good lady says I`m soft with all justification to be fair) but just on the thigh muscle, the rest of the leg is fine.

Still not Stilton ha ha. Lancashire crumbly mmmmm

mainly the knee replacement that keeps giving way which is annoying but it's the other one that I knocked and has swelled up Cue river dance again. Isn't life complicated

ps I love Stilton

Is there a good reason for the foot drop? And I assume a femoral DVT has been ruled out?

You have cheered me up with your humour on this grey UK morning and your unintended typo conjuring up thoughts of Stilton flavoured Pred made my mouth water. To add to PMRpro's questions, how long ago was your knee replacement?

Stilton Pred -now that could be a winner -or not!

Think you need to clarify leg issues as asked by PMRpro - have you tried the usual RICE procedures?

rest,ice,compression,elevation

been there done that, seems to be getting easier DorsetLady.. It was just a bit strange how quickly started to swell up.

Well so long as swelling has/is going down that’s good news -but a bit unsettling when it balloons up so quickly..but will no doubt still be a bit painful as bruise comes out -arnica gel or tablets may help with that. Sure you can get gel easily enough in Spain.

As for knee -have you followed that up with doctors - 2 years is not that long to be having issues -or has it been a bit iffy all along?

It’s been great. Physio was a b@@th but I got through that. Looks like I’ll have to start over. The consultant will be happy got loads of questions.

Thanks for the reply D ( becoming familiar now) it’s much appreciated

Just to add another question to the others, is the knee that gives way your replacement one or the other one?

DC - can you just put a Warning ⚠️ on your Reply above that there is initially some bad language.

Thank You

I’m not sure if it may get deleted or not.

Thanks

Thanks for the response. Mine is not painful it just annoys the hell out me. I’m hopeful that with regular exercise and physio it will correct itself.

I have foot drop too, but I don't walk much (note to self - start walking more)

I find that walking, and make sure you have proper footwear, (most important), helps as does foot exercise with a rubber band stretching.
