I have completed the 5 days of antivirals started on Day 3 .Within 24 hours of starting the course my symptoms had improved and each day I fell better than the previous day. I had plenty of the symptoms listed on the ZOE app which had increased between Day 1 and Day3. Today apart from the cough I feel OK , though I continue to take it easy in case fatigue is worse than normal.
I contacted 111 on Day 1 having logged my LFTon the NHS website. I wasn't not feeling very poorly . I had to call them again DAY 3 as I had heard nothing from the CMDU referral which they made and my symptoms were worse . Now felt like full blown flu. No contact from NHS despite re my LFT on Day1. On DAY 3 the hospital running the regional CMDU called , assessed and couriered the antivirals to me. Their pharmacist also called to check other meds and advised to stop statins for 8 days. I was pleased that both doctor and pharmacist were able to see my GP record as my CNS for the ET sends copies of her reports to the GP.
I no longer have confidence on the NHS and GP to get me my entitlement re my blood cancer. I had to make use of the MPN voice material to get the GP to set me up as clinically extremely vulnerable. Having achieved that it took a complaint to the local Health Trust to get the 3rd vaccine, and yet again MPN voice and Blood cancer UK have shown me how to get the antiviral.
Glad I took the antiviral, . You dont know how bad you are going to be with Covid but I definitely believe it stopped the virus in its tracks. I tested negative on Day 7. My husband is still positive after 9 days which isn't uncommon among the many recent cases we know.
Sorry for the length of this post. Thanks to the those who replied to my earlier post with good wishes.
