Statins and PMR
Can I ask did any of you PMR sufferers decide to stop taking
statins
to see if it helped? And did it help? Looking back I have had a chequered past with
statins
over 30 years. I eventually got off them through diet.

6 month study for use of stent or placebo effect
At the moment meds increased to 60 mg nucleotide monohydrate and been put on 5 mg of amlodipine as well as
statins
and 75mg of aspirin. Wondered if anyone else has been asked to take part in this. My end is Basildon cardiothoratic centre in conjunction with Imperial college.

On this last test however, the total cholesterol has risen again to over 200mg/dl and the bad cholesterols also almost back to where they had been before I started taking
statins
. Blood pressure had also risen and I started taking valsartan a few months ago. BP is now under control.

advice on test results and statins
My GP started me on
statins
some two years ago but I am not happy taking them so stopped for about 8 weeks and felt much better. After my last bloods at the surgery he has reduced my Levothyroxine to 75mcg because of my low TSH and told me I must resume my
statins
(Atovarstatin 20mgs).

Advice needed please. Recently diagnosed with Atherosclerosis, given Statins, 75mg Asprin and Clyceryl Trinitrate spry.
Recently diagnosed with Atherosclerosis, given
Statins
, 75mg Asprin and Clyceryl Trinitrate spray. Told by my GP if pain persists after using spray to call 999. I am having pain more or less constantly even getting woken up with it but it does go away when I use the spray.
