I am 61 and in 2017 I was diagnosed with a blocked LAD 50-60% not bad enough to stent but on medication. Statins, amlodipine and aspirin.
I am looking at going to America next year and wondered which insurance company anyone could recommend. Also, how would you describe my condition - would it be classed as Atherosclerosis
They also ask have you ever in your life been diagnosed with high cholesterol - well I have but it is and has been below 3 since 2017. Same question for blood pressure - I have but now under control.
Any advice would be great.
Thank you

You have to declare everything as it is. If not the Insurance company will not pay up should something happen and if that happened in th U.S you are talking mega bucks.
Sorry yes I realise I have to declare everything. There is nothing that says partially blocked LAD so wondered what to call it - i.e Atherosclerosis
There are several questions about travel insurance every week it seems. I suggest you search the site. Otherwise try a websearch for travel insurance with pre-existing conditions. Unfortunately there is no one size fits all. For example Staysure often get mentioned but they would not insure me, but other insurers would, including Allclear who also get mentioned regularly.
I have normal BP and cholesterol levels. A few years ago they were elevated but weight loss and medication have brought me back to the normal range. Without medication we would both have elevated levels therefore we suffer from from high BP and cholesterol. I would suggest not trying to be clever with insurance companies or you mat be caught out as has been highlighted on this forum. Staysure and Allclear seem to be the go to companies but the US is always expensive for travel insurance as their's is a "make profits" model!
Miss out absolutely NOTHING, even when you were a child. Any excuse to refuse to pay. If you've ever been diagnosed with BP or cholesterol, yes. IT makes no difference if it's now under control also partly blocked arteries. I also have two partial blockages in the LAD, not bad enough to s tent but must be declared. If you did happen to get ill that would be the reason to refuse payment. Have you seen the cost of repatriation?
