High blood pressure
Doctor suggested i am borderline for
statins
and obviously there are side effects from that. Plus it is then a long term medication. Anybody else with a similar problem or have any solutions? Ìm not really overweight and do not drink much. Thanks.

Kidney issues from age 3
My doctor said I could start on
statins
if I want. I have a bmi of 26, gained a stone since jan 2022. don't smoke, walk my dog and eat healthy. For the past 33 months I have had what I thought was tennis elbow in both elbows.

Microvascular Disease / Syndrome X
I was put on
statins
and aspirin at that time. From then on, any doctors I have seen try to reassure me that I don't have cardiac disease, however the symptoms are still the same and I have no diagnosis. I also had a cardiac echo test which was apparently also normal.

Confused with TSH result rising
GP: "Hmm, yes, you really should be taking
statins
-" Me: (sigh) "I've already had this conversation - I'm not going to take
statins
" GP: "I've written you a prescription for 75mcg Levothyroxine ... take that and we will retest in 3 months time-" Me: "Eight weeks" GP: "Sorry?"

Anyone prescribe Metformin for prostate cancer not for diabetes?
Multivariate Cox regression analysis found that patients treated with
statins
after cancer diagnosis were significantly associated with a lower risk of mortality (aHR =0.24, 95% CI =0.09–0.66) compared to patients who did not use
statins
during the study period.

hi, after annual blood tests, I have been told I am high risk for a heart attack, even tho cholesterol 4.5. And have to take atarvastatin, alongside Bisoprolol and Rivaroxoban and candesartan that I already take, does anyone else take these and do you have any side effects?

Which statin to take with Nubeqa/Darolutamide? Pitivastatin or a different statin?
I read a previous post about
statins
, and some guys liked its effects, and Patrick O'Shea responded poorly to it. This post/question has more to do with taking it with Nubeqa, and not just a specific assessment of
statins
.

Has anybody with thyroid problems had bad experiences while taking
statins
? I think some of my adverse reactions may have been thyroid storms.

The doctor called me to tell me my results and offered me
statins
and for me to contact my gp if I wanted to take that route. I’m still undecided 🤷♂️.

Statins and PMR
hi all, previously asked if you could take
statins
with pred, perhaps would have been better to have asked, with PMR. Gp now prescribed Atorvastatin over phone, said no contra-indications with pred but did not ask why I was taking pred. I assumed he had checked my notes!
