Hi, just wondering if anyone has been having this twice a year injection (Inclisiran)
It’s very new. It was sol to me as a side effect free non Statin alternative as I can’t tolerate statins!
Lipid clinic want me to take it and tell me it has no significant side effects , where as GP says this is because it’s new and results haven’t been gathered yet! Plus I suspect it’s a cost to the surgery’s budget which is why they’ve not been forthcoming with sorting this for me.!!
Has anyone been offered this ?or any info please

Hi I do not have experience of Inclisiran but I have been self injecting Repatha another PSK9 inhibitor fortnightly for the past 8 weeks on a fortnightly basis. It has started to give me bad shoulder pain which is exactly the same place as Statins did ! Now faced with a decision. Hope things work out for you I do think they have not been around long enough for comprehensive data.
Thanks. I think it’s wishful thinking expecting a miracle drug that has no side effects I guess. I to have decisions to make. I’m airing on the side of diet and exercise! as most things I’ve tried have made me feel worse, which is not the piont! Good luck with your journey.
There was an earlier post, I did mention on early days of this injection.
As you say " Lipid clinic want me to take it and tell me it has no significant side effects , where as GP says this is because it’s new and results haven’t been gathered yet! Plus I suspect it’s a cost to the surgery’s budget which is why they’ve not been forthcoming with sorting this for me.!!" the is an element of truth in this.
Every medication react differently to different people, how can daily medication replaced by an injection by every 6 month?
Please keep an diary of all reactions to this new injection. Lipid clinic may not want to discuss your record bu it is imperative that you keep a record for you to look at any data comes out in few years.
My experience with allergy medication and reaction to medication record keeps me away from some medication.
I think your GP is saying that inclisiran has not been proven to prevent cardiovascular morbidity or mortality. It does reduce cholesterol but for what purpose if they haven't proven its impact on cardiovascular death, that is what I would want to know because it will no doubt have negative impacts if your cholesterol is being manipulated. This is my opinion. ask.novartispharma.ca/downl... Read the indication section #1.
