sorry this is not directly related to PMR/GCA and apologies if everyone already knows this….
Yesterday my husband took phone call on the landline- (thought the area code was fairly local but turned out to be “London”) - a chap said he was calling from the pharmacy and the prescription was ready to be sent out. Husband thought accent was a bit off and did think scam but was due his statins etc that usually go straight to local chemist which has umpteen branches . The chap was pretty plausible and knew our address so husband then actually apologised for seeming “short” but then the guy asked him to confirm his Dob and expiry date of credit card. Hubby then did say something “abrupt” and put the phone down.
Certainly in retrospect the scammer didn’t actually say “what” pharmacy he was calling from.
l hadn’t come across this variation before, I’ve pretty much stopped answering mobile or landline to unknown numbers.
