fibroelastoma near aortic valve discovered on checkup when symptomless
Hi everyone, I had an echocardiogram to assess damage to heart for other drugs for a blood condition. It showed a fibroelastoma 7mm x7mm next to the aortic valve, and I have been told I need open heart surgery to remove it and likely replacement of the valve. I have numerous complicating issues related

Adenomyosis or Endo back??
Hi everyone, I had a laparoscopy in 2018 and had mild endometriosis tissue removed from my pelvis, and two cysts removed (one being an endometrioma). I have started having pain again the last couple of years and have been back to the doctors a few times as I felt I had an ovarian cyst again. However

Bronchitis
I have been coughing on and off for about a month, a few days ago I started feeling really ill. I phoned the surgery and was given an appointment with a nurse practitioner who confirmed it was bronchitis and not a chest infection and gave a prescription for a salbutamol inhaler. Should I be concerned

Prostatic Artery Embolization
I’m 67 year old and have been suffering with BPH for years. Don’t want to do TURP or lasers. I’m interested in doing PAE. Has anyone had this procedure done. Does it work. I had a cystoscope and the urologist found a medial lobe at the neck of the bladder. Would PAE work if the blockage is located there

I just don’t know how much more I can take
I’ve always had problems with my periods since being a teenager. I first went to the doctors around 18 and was dismissed. I’m now 36 and finally got a diagnosis of adenomyosis (via MRI scan) and endometriosis. I’ve had the surgery to do excision and I’ve bled non stop since. Yesterday I thought I

G'Day, does anybody have any unique suggestion fortreating the pain of this. My face really does not want anymore laser surgery, so is this my only option. Constructive input would be most appreciated. Royce

happy Saturday!
I brought home my dog domino following acl surgery and am overwhelmed about his rehab routine. Massage, ice, meds, trips to vet daily for laser therapy, etc. for at least 8 weeks. Has anyone else been through this and have any coping skills to suggest?

levo reduction
After annual bloods in july a duty doctor told me to reduce meds, 125mcg and 100 mcg on alternate days as I was overmedicted and retest in four or 5 months, I think that was too long. However I had bloods done again on 15th november and phoned the surgery 9 days later as I hadn't heard from them and

I wrote on October 10th 2023 ( apparently ,as a vague recollection as alot going on ) Had a reply today. My complaint about inconsistency in prescribing b12 . Lack of training with Gps and nurses. Ignoring clear NICE guidelines. Challenging my prescription time and time again. Withholding treatment

Morning all. When checking through this weeks e mails I noticed one from Health Unlocked asking me if I was OK? As, I had not signed in/been active on here for a while? I was a little confused by this as I am always on here, but didnt realise it had been a while since I had contributed. Nice to

I was visiting my family early in December (2023) After a few days I had a tightness/pain in my chest which went away after sitting down. All was well for the next few days and the same thing happened again. The third time it happened, my wife suggested we visit A&E. A number of tests were done and

Got some cholesterol readings, I don’t quite understand them.
Hi all, I had a blood test this week for liver function and the results included a cholesterol read out. The GP surgery sent me a text to say all the readings were normal. Trouble is I’m 4 months or so post quadruple CABG following Nstemi heart attack in July, am I considered normal on the same scale
