Hi all, I have now been taking Gabapentin for 5 weeks, my current dose is 600mg which until last night controlled my symptoms effectively. But I was woken last night with the most awful RSL I've ever experienced. It seemed that my whole body was twitching and jerking even my face my back my arms and

Dad's Tooth Extraction Went GREAT!!! :)
Hi Friends, I asked in another post for your opinions on meds to accompany a tooth extraction in Daddy, who has had varying degrees of psychosis following his last surgery. Thank you all for your thoughts, prayers and input. He did wonderfully and the dentist and staff were extremely accommodating

endometriosis’flare’
hello, I wondered if anyone could offer some advice or support. I have been really really struggling with right sided abdominal pain, gripey stomach, back pain, nausea, fatigue and can’t stop going to the toilet. It’s been like this now for over a week. I had excision surgery over 12 months ago but

This excellent talk by the consultant Neeru Vallabh is now easily available on the Glaucoma UK website and You Tube. For anyone who missed it then the speaker explains things so clearly. This consultant has kindly returned to answer all the questions that remained at the end of the session. I was delighted

Following my push to try and increase my FT3 levels (see my post of a few weeks ago) 3 weeks ago my consultant suggested I increase my Levo from 125mcg to 137.5 mcg for 2 months as he thought this might increase my T3, he had my graphs showing my FT3 was then at 15%. 2 weeks into the increase, which

I have lately been to the DRs with my open heart scar.. The top and bottom of the scar is oozing yellow pus, which has been dressed. Since noticing the oozing I have also noticed the left side of my breast, back and chest is very painful and uncomfortable especially in the morning and evenings. I don

miracles do happen
hi just wanted to share my good news. I have had painful periods most of my life ( with the word painful being an understatement). At age 23 I bled for 50 days and had an MRI scan which showed an endometrioma, adenomyosis and a polyp. My gynaecologist wanted to perform surgery but I said no as I read

If I Didn't Have Faith and Family Like You!
Now, I just shared my story about my weekend in NY seeing Chris Botti; now I'm sitting in the Family Waiting Room of Jefferson Hospital for hubby to get out of surgery. He kept complaining of bad back and stomach pain. Well, large Kidney Stone causing a blockage! He needed a different procedure; not

Depression and physical pain
My depression had improved a lot this year by changing to a more active lifestyle and changing jobs to be less isolated (among other things). Possible carotid artery problem discovered 3 weeks after double heart bypass surgery.
My hubby has been home for 2 weeks after his bypass surgery, and because of an ongoing vision problem, it's now suspected that his carotid artery also has blockage(s) and clots are happening. He's going to have an ultrasound urgently. Poor man, still very much recovering from surgery. Is this familiar

Thoughts?
I had a text yesterday from my GP Practice - a text mark you, not a conversation, a telephone call or heaven forfend , an appointment . To say blood tests ( haven’t had any recently) show I have chronic kidney disease and I should start taking a statin. First reaction was - it’s a mistake. Second was

Starting Statins.
I’ve had permanent AF for three years, now 78 and am on Apixaban and low dose bisoprolol as well as thyroxine and pramipexole for RLS . After recent blood tests Surgery decided I should be on Statins. Atorvastatin now perscibed but not started. Seems to be a safety net as Cholesterol is within normal

Which option for surgery
My dad has been waiting for open heart surgery for a valve replacement for 2 years. He is now faced with a second option, TAVI, rather than open heart. Does anyone have any experience or helpful advice? We are researching for him so that he can make an informed decision. Any help would be greatly appreciated
