Hi everyone,
I had an echocardiogram to assess damage to heart for other drugs for a blood condition. It showed a fibroelastoma 7mm x7mm next to the aortic valve, and I have been told I need open heart surgery to remove it and likely replacement of the valve. I have numerous complicating issues related to bleeding and healing, and am looking to get a second opinion on a less invasive approach.
How do I go about this in England?
Has anyone else had surgery for a fibroelastoma and how did it work?
Did anyone suffer kidney problems following surgery? What happened and how can these be minimised?
I am seeking to truly understand the risks of surgery for me and minimise their life altering consequences.
Any advice and tips?
Many thanks for all your help.
