Foundation one genomic testing
Last month my oncologist sent my biopsy from when I was first diagnosed to Foundation one for genomic testing. They find what mutations they fine then match them to available treatments to see if they can find a match. Medicare does cover some of the testing and she then had me sign a form that other

Here we go again - again!!

Any 2 time Chemo warriors?
Mets spreading, started chemotherapy again on Tuesday. I found out Monday that my scans show mets in more bone in various parts of my body, and my liver. I had previously only had mets in 2 vertebrae. My oncologist had me scheduled to re insert my port Tuesday, and I had my first weekly round

My treatment journey
I found out my cancer had returned matastatic to my bones and liver. Went through 10 months of Abraxane chemo and then was put on Ibrance. Had all the aches and pains with it. I was taking Ibrance with Letrosole. Had to change to non generic Femara. It worked about a year. I am now on Femara

Greener Grass
I've just got home from the election count. I'm involved in processing postal votes which is more relaxed than the main count and is quite a pleasant atmosphere. There's a lot of waiting for votes to come through and time to chat. So you get to know people but you probably wouldn't recognise them in

BLOODY NOSE
I have just finished 16 infusions of taxol. Coped with it very well but; a day or so after treatment my nose would start to bleed very slightly, not pouring just dripping and last for five or six days. Has anyone else had anything similar. When I ask the nurses in the chemo ward about it they seem

Back from London, tired, but hopeful
Dear All, When to the London Clinic yesterday, saw RK, what a difference from the last consultation in London. She started off with the fact that there are still lots of possibilities and treatments out there, which lifted my spirits immediately. Very briefly, she wants me to first do molecular testing

Not great update
We had his PET and brain MRI on Monday, and we saw his oncologist today to get the results. We also had a surprise Doppler ultrasound for a “cramp” he had in his left calf. Turns out, not a cramp. Blood clot in his mid calf. Which is definitely not what me and Ryan expected. He is now going to get an

Triple Negative Breast Cancer
Hello, I am 48, I have MS and I was recently diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast cancer, grade 3, with lymph node involved. I have just finished with 2/4 AC with 12 weeks of taxol after. I am waiting on gene studies to make a decision on lumpectomy vs mastectomy after chemo. What are others thoughts

Update
Dear All. As promised an update on my precarious position. After the shock and trauma following my oncologist meeting three weeks ago, where he told me that carbo/caelyx hadn’t worked for me (1st recurrence), that I was platinum resistant and there wasn’t much hope left, I went nervously to the meeting

Flecainide and Bisoprolol - contre indicated?
Hi Everyone, I was on Sotolol for a couple of years but had quite long episodes of Paroxysmal Afib a couple of times a month. The cardiologist changed me to 200mg slow release Flec and 3.75 Bisoprolol. All the annoying ectopics disappeared but I started having very brief episodes of Afib. This week

No PIP after Ablation.
Hi, I had my first Ablation in May this year and was taken off Sotalol and put on Flecainide for three months before going cold turkey. Whilst on Sotalol I had Flecainide as my PIP and was reasonable successful ( probably 4 out of 6 episodes it stopped ). About 12 days ago I could feel my heart missing

Right decision ?
Morning ladies from rainy Lincolnshire, I think I've decided not to have my last dose of taxol, ,will have carbo on its own, started back in March with three cycles of both ,the taxol nearly finished me ,excruciating leg and foot pain ,given morphine with little relief , last cycle took two weeks before

Mild PAF symptoms, should I bother?!
Ever since my first knee replacement was postponed due to the last minute discovery of my PAF most of the decisions have been left to me. The current situation 3 years down the line is that I seem to have an unusual form. It's like a timeclock . I get it every 4-6 days and it lasts almost exactly 48

Stressful time
Hi hope everyone is doing ok. I don't comment often but support this site. I was diagnosed in 2016 and have gone through so many treatments. My last one was in June which was weekly taxol. After a month I developed the shakes, i had a brain scan which didn't show anything so I was recommended to see

Update on Treatment
Evening friends I have just got back from my appointment with consultant , the cancer is on the surface of the liver as we thought. They propose Taxol given 2weeks then one off, it's been two half years since last time combined with Carbo but I am resistant to platinum now. So will have it on its own

I have been a bit quiet on this board as have been feeling quite unwell during my last few weeks on Taxol. I had 19 doses of weekly Taxol. OnTuesday I had my scans and had myself completely convinced my tumours were growing. I felt so sick waiting to see my oncologist, He gave me a huge smile and said
