No PIP after Ablation.

Hi, I had my first Ablation in May this year and was taken off Sotalol and put on Flecainide for three months before going cold turkey. Whilst on Sotalol I had Flecainide as my PIP and was reasonable successful ( probably 4 out of 6 episodes it stopped ). About 12 days ago I could feel my heart missing beats and then Wednesday morning this week I woke up in full AF going from 48 to 168 BPM, I called 111 as I didn't wish to risk taking a Flecainide tablet having been on nothing for 10 weeks , they told me to get down to A&E within the hour. I arrived at 6.45 they did an ECG and was taken straight into resuc , given a Bisoprolol which didn't work and was the told I needed an immediate Cardioversion, which they did and I was on my way home at 11. The NHS at it's very best. I have my 6 monthly check up with the Consultant next week so it will be interesting to see what he decides! ( With the Cardioversion the Consultant uses a different method to my previous three, he places one pad on the left chest and one directly behind it on the back, it requires less electricity apparently. I have to say that evening I didn't get to bed until 4 in the morning as the under the skin burning sensation was almost unbearable and was making me twitch non stop, it took 36 hours to go ) .

Front and back is best yes. After-sun cream is good for any patch burns or Dermol cream if you can get it. . Must have had a few zaps mind as I have never had more than slight redness. I always went back on the first bang. Only time I have heard of bad burns it was suspected the skin was damp when the pad was applied so it got broiled.

Glad you are feeling better now.;

Many thanks for the advice Bob. Maybe my skin was a little damp as they had the overhead spotlight heaters on. Kind regards Max
