I have just got back from my appointment with consultant , the cancer is on the surface of the liver as we thought. They propose Taxol given 2weeks then one off, it's been two half years since last time combined with Carbo but I am resistant to platinum now. So will have it on its own.
Upset will lose hair again just got it right, this will be my 4th line treatment in two and half years.
There is never any good news feeling sad as I have battled so hard, this disease is relentless !!
Love to you all

And love back to you Ann! This is so unfair, you have had a very rough time. I am sure we will all be thinking of you and hoping that the taxol does the business. It doesn’t surprise me at all that you are feeling down but you and others in your position are an inspiration, I only hope that, when it comes to it I can be as brave ❤️
Every time we take the chemo route we have such faith and then when the remission is short we are floored! With the help of your family, friends and the ladies on here you can take this next step.
Taxol works well. l know what your saying about the hair loss. It makes one feel like a cancer patient, so has a negative effect, how about a "Kick Ass" style wig one with pink or blue that will make you stand out in a crowd?
When are your starting this next round? Stay strong and keep going.
Hi, I have just started my 4th line of treatment, taxol, 3 weeks on 1 week off.
This is my 4 th line in 3 years. I was gutted and very down like you, plus the hair loss.
However now I have started and accepted it I realise that I was quite poorly and am feeling a lot better.
I have had another NHS wig which is lovely. My bowels have sorted themselves out. No more planning a trip out round loos!! Ascites gone, and no side effects apart from feeling a bit sick, but medication taking care of that, I am even back to playing badminton.
I know I have spoken about myself a lot but I was trying to say I was where you sound to be but things have got better and once you start your treatment I am sure you will get in the routine again.
I never thought I would welcome chemo but there is some comfort knowing that something positive is being done.
I wish you luck, with this treatment you will soon have your positive head back on again, big hugs Anthea. X
So glad you have told me this , I felt like I was the only one that seems to be on chemo all the time .
I asked the nurse yesterday if she had anyone else like me , she said I have before , i just thought it would have helped if I could have maybe talked .
Hi Ann. Ah what a crappy disease this is. And you've had more than your share of it.
I guess the cold cap is not an option you would want to consider?
I've only had one line of chemo so far (Carb/Tax) and did it without cold cap, but that was mainly because it's apparently not being offered in any of the hospitals near where I live, here in Germany. Seems Germans believe in Kojak!
Like LittleSan though, I went a bit creative in the wigs department. Different colours, different lengths/styles, to the bafflement of friends and colleagues .
I found the problem wasn't even having no hair during chemo. It was how §$%& long it takes to grow back afterwards. And you have my sympathy for getting hit with that challenge yet again.
That said, I seem to remember having read reports of women where the hair loss was not bad under weekly Taxol, because of the lower dose...guess it depends on the individual but I wish this happens for you, and you get better while keeping most of your hair. xx. Maus
Ann , I'm sorry to hear your going into battle again. My hair I had lost it all and it was not growing so this year I said screw it and got evtentions. I won't wait next time. Plus next time I will probably do a wig. I wore baseball caps. Best wishes 😍Liz
I know how you feel I had crazy beautiful long hair when I lost it all. My extentions were 18 inches. They matched my color. Expensive but now would do as soon as had hair to connect too.
So sorry you are back on the Chemo train, its not a nice feeling but if it will give you respite, well its worth it. I was on Gemzar for recurrence worked well and for some unknown reason stopped before regime was finished. I found it hard to go back and change to Caelyx but getting into the run of things, my hair is wiry and thinning right now, I wish you the best
