why though?
so, I started with an EF of 30 and now, a year later, it is 60 ( on Entresto highest dose, Bisoprolol, Lanzoprozole, Atrovastatin, Spironolactone, Clopidogrel ) but I went swimming yesterday (20 slow lengths) then couldn’t get up for my ballet lesson this morning. Surely, with a near normal EF, I should

Transplant assessment
Had my assessment date today and I was expecting a lot of testing to be done. Sent home and told to reduce furosemide again and carry on as I am. Review again in 6 months. I was told I wouldn’t survive a transplant now but just to keep going as I am and hope the ascities doesn’t creep up again with

pain in arms, looking for alternative to naproxen
Hi, I have been struggling with fluid retention and swollen legs for some time now. Last week my orthopaedic consultant requested that I go into hospital so they could have a good look at the wound on my left foot as it wasn't healing very well. I had been taking naproxen for arthritis and shoulder pain

Pacemaker Box Replacement
After 13 years my pacemaker is coming to the end of its useful life and I have been called for a replacement next week at my local NHS hospital. My current medication includes Apixaban, Sotalol, Candesartan and Furosemide. Past 80, little choice and am somewhat apprehensive of all that is involved. Anybody

Heart failure
Saw cardiologist in March. He asked me who told me I had heart failure, I told him he had told me five years ago and yearly ever since. I saw him before my valve replacement. He said he wasn't sure I had heart failure. Sent for battery of tests and then got letter saying I have heart failure with

Mirtazapine
Hi I've been prescribed mirtazapine for heart related anxiety. Have any of you taken it and put on weight? I'm definitely not eating more than usual but am putting on weight at a ridiculous rate. I'm trying to keep weight stable but it's proving difficult. I don't think it's water retention I

Advice Appreciated
Hi all, it 3 weeks since I came off Spironolactone as my liver specialist asked me to do so as after 6 month checks they believed my results showed I was in a good enough place to do so. I’ve gained 8 pounds in 3 weeks which from what I can see online isn’t classed as rapid but the last few days I’ve
