Fluid overload
Hi After some advise please. I am currently not on dialysis but had the first stage of my fistula done two weeks ago as my renal function is 7%. I seem to be struggling with 6 kilos of fluid overload. I follow 1 litre fluid restriction and take 160mg of furosemide. I've tried restricting myself to 750mls

Hot feet anyone?
OK not exactly hot but my lower legs are pretty sore. I recently lost a toe-nail (right) so at first associated the discomfort with that. But it got worse and affected both legs from the lower calf to the ankle. Right worse than left. Very surface pain. I am not diabetic but I do have COPD and underwent

Back On Spironolactone And Asking For Help
Many of you here know my story: I began drinking again due to stress after losing disability benefits (because I'm too clever to be disabled and entitled to PIP, apparently - even though I'm epileptic to the point that I am a danger to myself and others) and found that I was unable to stop. I didn't

Rehab?
Has anybody here successfully gone through rehab after falling off the wagon? I told my consultant at the time that allowing me to cut down wouldn't work - it's like dangling a carrot in front of a starving donkey - but he asked me to try anyway. Well, I've been trying for a year, and getting nowhere

FUROSEMIDE
Hi, I've suffered with COPD for sometime and always thought I was good at managing it, however I was recently told that I was having an uninflected flair up, after three weeks of steroids I now have some fluid in my lungs and very bad oedema to both ankles and legs, the GP put me on 40mg FUROSEMIDE daily

What questions should I ask?
My husband is on the following medication - omeprazole, rifaximin,
spironolactone
, senna, thiamine,
furosemide
. He also drinks the ensure supplements. I guess I want/need to know how serious things are.

Sepsis. Update on "Drama"
Thanks to all who replied to my Drama post. Just a quick update. Still in hospital while they grow cultures to find the type of sepsis. Meanwhile they are trying broad spectrum antibiotics until they identify a specific one. More worrying from my point of view, ( but they laugh at me and call me Dr)

Newbie
Hi I am a Newbie on here but not to PCOS. I was diagnosed about 16 years ago. I have been on metformin and spirolactone for about ten years. The only benefit i have seen is that i have not become diabetic. I am frustrated at the effects PCOS has on my body. I am the only person in my family to be diagnosed

Annual Ultrasound
This year I have a clearer picture of the state of my liver, as my husband was allowed in with me and he was able to read notes that I couldn't see whilst lying on my back being examined. Liver is apparently slightly enlarged, but that has been written off as "expected" for someone with cirrhosis. On

Cirrhosis questions for my MIL
Hi everyone, this is my 1st post here.... My Mum in law was diagnosed with cirrhosis a few months ago. She wasn't a drinker, and the cause "could be" fatty liver. She is taking spironolactone 50mg & frusomide 20mg (to help with the ascites). She has type 2 diabetes. She is quite upset about this, and
