hi. Posted about 6 weeks ago about mums increased leg swelling. Unfortunately it’s no better after trying a week of an extra Frusemide. Really worried this means the swollen legs are here to stay. I’ve looked back at my replies to previous posts which were really helpful and I’m waiting for the gp to

Fluid retention affecting feet especially left foot and possibly causing breathing problems?
Help please. Have AF. Fluid retention especially bad with left foot worrying me. Pace maker inserted recently to stop heart going too slow with Bisoprolol 10 mg and Diltiazem 240mg to prevent heart trying to race - it goes into episodes of Tachycardia lasting several days. My GP let me have Furosemide

Spironolactone alternative:Private Sector
I have had to come off Spironolactone (adverse intestinal effects). I am also allergic to the only alternative under the NHS (Eplerenone). Has anyone ever gone Private and been prescribed a better alternative?

i have severe RLS and i take Methadone daily for this. I have recently been put on Eliquis and Spironolactone . Would either of these aggravate my RLS? Thanks for your help.

Heart Failure swollen legs
Hello. Mums heart failure has been quite stable thanks to the medicines she’s on. In May she was discharged from the cardiology as a result. However, I’ve noticed that the swelling that she normally has in her feet seems to be spreading up her legs a bit. Worried this means this are going bad now. She

Spironolactone and my bottom.
Having real problems taking Spironolactone. Life is good for about 4 hours after taking the tablet and then my colon empties in a spectacular fashion. I am now trying it after food and see what happens. Anyone else had this joy in their lives?

Hair loss due to meds?
Hello everyone. Just wondered if anyone else has suffered hair loss due to heart meds? I know you lose so many hairs a day and age can be a factor (I’m nearly

How much Spironolactone are you on daily?
I was fine on 50mg last year. Fluid came back twice this year but cleared after a week at 100mg. So it was agreed I could increase it temporarily at home. But this doesn’t seem to be working this time. Other treatments seem very limited. What has worked for you when this happens? Is anyone on a higher

Finally Diagnosed Yesterday.
Just wanted to join and see what it's all about here. I'm pretty scared having found out as the hospital doctor described mine as "Quite advanced". They put me on 40mg Furosemide and 2.5 mg Biscoprolol. probably a daft question but roughly , when could i expect to feel a bit better? I'm very tired,

does an rls friendly diuretic exist?
I have bad swollen legs which my GP thinks is caused by excess fluid It probably comes from a combination of my RLS medicines ( Pregabalin 250 mg and 2mg Neupro patch) plus a recent knee replacement operation. To get rid of this excess fluid my GP upped my normal 50mg Spironolactone dose to 75 mg.

Alternative to Spironolactone
I have been on Spironolactone for 6 months +. It has made a big difference to my heart failure symptoms. Unfortunately, the drug is causing pain in my breast tissue and I may have to come off it. Can anyone recommend an alternative to Spironolactone either NHS or Private.

HiA year ago I elected to try Entresto and was on a baby dose for 6 months and then up to usual starting dose. The Registrar added in Dapa and reduced my beta blocker to help my low bp and keep me upright. I'm on 320mg of furosemide daily too. Everything is a bit struggly now. Struggling with low bp
