Is there anybody with Experience of Spinal Cord Stimulation
Hi I have neuropathic pain following a shoulder injury in 2000. For the last four years my pain consultant has recommended that I have spinal cord stimulation, but I have never been able to find people who have had positive success other than for lower back pain. Do you have - or know anybody who

Viral Meningitis- So many effects and so little answers
Hospital did a
spinal
tap
and diagnosed me, then released me the next morning. I was in bed for almost a month. Seem to get a little better/ stronger by end of July and went back to work (desk job) for 2 months only 2 days a week. Oct 6th, turning point again.

Hughes syndrome, clots & headaches
So now I have a papilliodaema which needs treating via a lumbar puncture (
spinal
tap
) which should soon relieve the pressure. I thought i'd share this. as there seems to be lots of APL sufferers who report headaches after anticoagulation. This may be the reason for some of those who suffer!

So tired all the time
They diagnosed me with Viral Meningitis via a
spinal
tap
, kept me over night and sent me home in the morning with pain killers. Prior to this happening, I was getting into shape by doing alot of walking, had quit smoking 8 months prior and was feeling pretty good.

Has anyone had a spinal fusion - with good results? And how do you get a 2nd opinion?
Hi I was rushed to A&E on the 1st of September - after the weekend had an MRI and discovered I had a large central prolapsed disc (L4/L5 - no exciting war story!). Had been chasing my GP for months with stiffness and sciatica pain but had been brushed off then bam - pure agony. After 3 days the

Hello :)
I've spent ages reading the forums - didnt realise they existed until recently! I've been looking for experiences with Xolair, as I have my outpatient appointment at Papworth tomorrow and want to ask them if they will consider it for me. I have severe asthma, with allergies - which I may cope with

Stupid or not?
I may be stupid and that is one answer but if i am not then someone may have the answer for me. Either way i get a result. I had a heart attack followed by a quad bypass(during which i suffered cardiac arrest) and was found to have FH. My current total chol is 4.5. I had been taking medication(Bisoprolol

The morning after the day before
Yesterday was Wk 1 Day 1. Been preparing with loads of power walking, losing weight, but still got out of bed and thought: Hello calves, didn't expect that. But overall feeling good. I'm half way on my weight loss journey but still have another 1st 6lbs to go. The monkey I've got to get off

Has anyone had rls change to something else?
I had painful rls all my life, i then had spinal surgery and was prescribed tramadole for pain relief. Since then my rls has completely stopped but has been replaced by myoclonus jerks and a lot of random limb movement during times of rest and sleep. The tramadole is the only thing that keeps me still

question about biphosphonates
when my mother takes her biphosphonate medication it makes her really unwell. She has been advised she needs to take this medication as the prednisolone increases her risk of osteoporosis, even more important for her as she had major spinal surgery last year. Please can you advise if you are aware

Anyone had a spinal fusion operation?
I have to have a spinal fusion op of the lumbar region. I'm looking for any info on how to cope when coming out of hospital - showering, laying in bed, how active are you. Anything would be appreciated.

Anyone had spinal fusion?
I am going to have a spinal fusion operation (only a couple of vertebrae) and I would love to hear from anyone who has had this op. As I live on my own I am wondering how I will manage. How mobile will I be? How long before I am able to get out and about? Is there a time limit on not
