i developed menigitis after a neck spinal fusion surery. i have a very bad ammune system and was told the donor bone/blood/chemial that was

implanted caused a life threatening non viral memingitus. has anyone else had this experience. i have not been right since, two months ago, and want advice throgh experience, thanks fusion

I have heard that any spinal surgery carries risk of Meningitis.I know of a girl who had surgery to remove a benign spinal tumour and ended up with bacterial Meningitis .Thankfully she was treated immediately amnd has had no after effects.

If you have been so dreadfully ill,two months on (in addition to spinal fusion trauma) is very early days.Hang in there and take each day as it comes,be gentle with yourself and dont try to push through the fatigue.Any symptoms you have -fatigue,pain etc are to tell you not to push through it!

Hopefully someone with similar experience will reply,but welcome to forum .You will find support here.Meningitis Trust can also give counselling,help and can put you in touch with a 1-2-1 buddy.I do this and currently have 4 buddies who I keep in contact with.You just need to phone or email MT.
