How Does One Find a Good Neurologist?
I think that I may have been unlucky in my choice of neurologists. The last one that I saw told me that he sees thousands of patients. He said that I should be optimistic, and that I should trust him, but he didn't respond to messages that I left on his portal. My current neurologist prescribed

Gut microbiota-derived propionate mediates the neuroprotective effect of osteocalcin in a mouse model of Parkinson’s disease 2021
Interesting stuff. That osteocalcin (OCN) looks useful, but so does proprionate. Here is the full study: https://microbiomejournal.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.1186/s40168-020-00988-6 The finding in our study demonstrated that OCN increased the microbial propionate production, which might activate

Failed Right Wrist Ulna Resection Surgery,Fusion w/ Tendon transfer at 32
I'm new here and I would like to share about my severely eroded & fused right wrist. It took almost 8 years before I was diagnosed with R.A and it all started with a right wrist pain that got worse over the years. Finally got great health insurance and a great Orthopaedic surgeon that tried his best

Hiya, I am low in b12 and SI EOD at the moment. Have been going through my blood results and have noticed my Platelet distribution width is always really high(35-55%) and my plateletcrit is always really low. I’m not sure what these are as I notice they aren’t usually in others results. Any input? I

Follow up on leg pain -- Spinal Surgery?
Thanks to all who suggested I see an ortho to rule out spine issues. Turns out that at L4/L5 I have pretty severe spinal stenosis. The ortho thinks surgery is my best option, as other options would give me short lived or incomplete relief. I'm inclined to agree, since I'm still fairly young (64) and

I feel I am progressing well the first 5 minutes I tend to feel tired quickly then it seems to clear and I can just keep going. Question is when to hit the tarmac as I have been running in the fields following spinal surgery July last year?

Possible back surgery questions.
Soon I will be seeing a spinal surgeon for my lower back. Have any of you had spinal surgery while on prednisone? If so how much were you on? How long did it take to recover? Thanks My spinal injections are only lasting a few weeks now.
