Rapid decline in GFR, getting no answers.
I have been to 2 specialists so far that have literally offered no help, guidance or even dietary recommendation (except less
sodium
to help the edema). I am working now to get in with Duke to see if they can offer some guidance.

Crazy how fast things change. The same day we saw Dr. Kwon we saw Jeff’s radiation oncologist that afternoon. As I wasn’t anticipating much of an update from that appointment, I posted an update prematurely. In short, Jeff’s radiation oncologist felt radium 223 was the best next treatment. Radium 223

Implications of butyrate and its derivatives for gut health and animal production 2018
The absorption of butyrate has been shown to promote the absorption of
sodium
, potassium, and water, the effects that give it antidiarrheal properties (Ruppin et al., 1980). This is significant as diarrhea is a recognized complication in critically ill patients.

My partner's story
However, around 10 days later he had to stop taking his diuretics due to his
sodium
dropping too low. Within a matter of 3 days, the ascites and edema had returned, he had lost his appetite, he was struggling to sleep and he was in a really low place.

Treatment of damages due to radiation
asked him why we do not use the know-how of doctors dealing with nuclear exposure. Many of us suffer from damages produced by radiation....like blood in stool, urine and other damages. However when I visit doctors, it seems they are ignorant of treatment for damages due to Radiation. I feel we should

Now trying to stay low potassium, cutting
sodium
. My question is: I rarely salt my food, generally only potatoes, but I do have a cupboard full of jars of a combination of spices/herbs. Many have salt in them.

Should Early Use of Chemotherapy Be Avoided in the Treatment of Metastatic Prostate Cancer?
Interesting editorial in JMA [Japan Medical Association] Journal: "The therapeutic strategy for advanced prostate cancer has dramatically changed recently. Previously, docetaxel was the only drug with evidences showing improved overall survival (OS) in metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer

Holding the line
I take
Sodium
Citrate for it. I want to see if there is something else I can take. I eat a pretty alkaline diet. But that is not enough to counter the PsA. Even so, the decline was not awful. I was pretty happy that it is now officially over four and half years that I have stabilized my CKD.
