Had my dreaded labs done yesterday. The good news is everything pretty much stayed the same. The only continued decline is in CO2 which is because of the uric acid my PsA causes. I take Sodium Citrate for it. I want to see if there is something else I can take. I eat a pretty alkaline diet. But that is not enough to counter the PsA. Even so, the decline was not awful. I was pretty happy that it is now officially over four and half years that I have stabilized my CKD. Next labs will include a cystatin -c test which has not been done before. This lab was for seeing if the Ozempic is make a difference in my renal and diabetes So..... A1C was down to 5.8. and that is with taking less Lantus at night. Wha hooo . Good stuff.

Good your tests went well. I too have low CO2 but within range now . My PD prescribed allopurinol for the high uric acid.
HI Orange, I forgot to add I am also on allopurinol. And an infusion for the PsA but unfortunately, it is a disease that gets used to the meds and they become less effective. I am going to try to up my citrate intake to see if that will help. I am just one point below normal range so it's not drastic. Hope all is well with you.
Bassetmommer,
Delighted to hear your good news! I will take stable any day of the week!
Your A1C- wow! Fantastic! I know via my brother what a challenge it can be!
Sending good thoughts - know that I am in your corner!
Bet
So pleased for you.
Congrats!!!
Have you considered revisiting the dietician to see about some changes in your low purine diet? My Neph orders the cystatin -c test each time. I've only had labs 3 times because I only started seeing him in Aug. But I imagine he'll continue to do so.
Keep up the great work.
Congratulations! You help so many people on this site. I am glad you got good news.
Fantastic work! My "oh, no!" feelings always show up when I see those with multiple conditions like psoriatic arthritis, lupus, and others coupled with diabetes. That's such a hard row to hoe. My son, only in his 30s, was recently brought to his knees with psoriatic arthritis. I see him also getting diabetes even though he takes care of himself. Much respect for dealing with the hand you were given.
Yea for stable
I am celebrating with you! It's wonderful to get some numbers in range!
So happy for you that you got good news!
Bassetmommer stable is great!! But better A1C is great! Very proud of you for being so diligent with your health issues and always having a positive attitude. You do help so many of us on this site and it is nice to hear you have some good news to celebrate!
