I have found today that my dose of T3 is prescribed.
On the front of the cardboard box it states - Liothyronine Sodium - 20 microgram tablets -and then towards the bottom of the pack -28 tablets but on the back of the box a sticky label now states:-
21 liothyronine 20mcg tabs - 1 to be taken daily.
on another box (different pharma) sticky label states:
28 tablets of 20mcg but below it is printed -14 liothyronine 20mcg tabs
??????
Confused !

Maybe the word 'oddments' is translation for odd person (I assume).
If we get a box that states a particular number of tablets, we expect them to be in the box.
If they are going to give me a certain number every four weeks, then I don't want it to be mix/match or shortages in the boxes.
A few weeks ago on a Saturday I went to pick up prescription. I was told by the temporary pharmacist that they had none in stock and suggested I go to all the local pharmacies. As I had no tablets left I did as he suggested but NO LUCK.
Yes, see it’s been asked re are there 14 tabs… I get a new supply Monday from Hospital pharmacy (Boots) I’ll have a look… Hope you’re ok (I seem to get a very bleak we don’t know how long we’re going to be able to prescribe these for from the yearly appt with consultant 🙄)
Hi Shaws, there are always split boxes of certain medication on the dispensary shelves, sometimes a script will be for 30 tablets and the boxes are 28's so another box is opened and 2 tablets removed to make up the script. As long as you have e the amount that was prescribed then all is well.
I don't want mixed boxes because in the past I have taken tablets that have caused symptoms I didn't have before, so definitely don't want to go through that again. Thanks.
They are not normally mixed brands just open boxes that have been split to fill a script. If the pharmacy know you only want a certain brand then even if the box is split the brands will be the same. It shouldn't be a problem for you then.
