Sodium intake
We are often told to restrict sodium intake, and this is probably a good idea if we are accustomed to eating a lot of prepared foods. However it is possible to become sodium deficient if cooking for oneself and reducing salt to the barest minimum. This can lead to some inexplicable symptoms as I personally

Recovering after Radiation
I finished my 5 rounds of Radiation Tuesday. I had some bowel irritation over the long weekend after Round 4, now having more after round 5. Gas and diarrhea together, what a treat. The NP told me to try Imodium, and heck next time I need a new safe I will contact the guys who packaged those tablets

Has anyone had ferritin as high as 557
I just had my 1st lab tests since my restless legs increased last spring. I take ferrous sulfate 3 times a day. My ferritin tested at 557 which needless to say really surprised me.

Thromboxane A2 [TxA2]
New study from Spain below [1]. PCa cells tend to have elevated levels of the omega-6 fatty acid: Arachidonic Acid [AA]. NF-kB, which is chronically activated in PCa creates numerous cell-survival proteins, includin the COX enzymes. Acting on AA, COX-2 creates prostaglandins and thromboxane [Tx] (

IBS D change after gluten free
I suffer from IBS D mostly I thought with the gluten free that I was starting to get results I went to toilet at 9.55 with what I can only describe as pebbles then had a normal poo at 11.55 so thought I was good for the day but after brunch my tummy felt like I needed to go but couldn't do any more

Input would be greatly appreciated.
I'd be grateful of any advice to help me be prepared with the correct information before I contact my GP surgery. I've already received invaluable information from Forum members and the Pernicious Anaemia Society have been a lifesaver. Please excuse my long story and any over sharing of information

Drug skin reaction due to T4/T3.
I have been on Levo 50mcg for 20 months & T3 40mcg split into three doses for 14 months. In July 2020 I started to get swelling in my feet, ankle & leg but only in the left leg. It then went to my right leg & foot too. This went on until the end of November 2020. I was then put on water tablets to help

Toilet Issues
So, I’ve been to the doctors and they haven’t diagnosed IBS. They just did checks to ensure no food intolerances. But with nerves I quite often get the feeling of needing to poo and not being able to hold it to the point where I’ve either got to stop the car and go in the back of the car in something

Do medium-chain triglycerides downregulate mTOR?
I ran across some info about MCTs turning off mTOR and amping up AMPK (possibly resulting in an increase in autophagy and also lipolysis). Does anyone have any info on whether or not MCTs are potentially beneficial for prostate cancer?

I am new here - question
I have suffered from IBS-D for many years. I find when I take Imodium I am good for a few days after. I am considering taking it every second or third day on a regular basis. Has anyone else had success with this method?

Dear friends, I have a ‘what would you do’ scenario that I’d really love your help with, please.
A short update for those following - When I saw my haematologist last week it was quite unpleasant, I think her impatience was due to her ridiculous workload or her frustration that she can’t really guide me. I dared not question her words or ask too many Q’s, I left it at a couple, one of them was re

4yr 3month old son still wetting pants and soiling or fully pooing in pants.
Hi this is my first post on here, as have just joined. My son was 4 in January, started toilet training him at 3yrs, after a while he would use the potty when he had no bottoms on, but always have accidents if he had pants on. However, now he has accidents regularly whether he has pants on or not, wetting

Ferrous Sulfate gives me headaches
Hi, sorry if I've posted this in the wrong section as I dont have Thyroid problems. I've recently had a low iron deficiency confirmed and have been told to buy supplements and take them 3x a day. The chemist recommended Ferrous Sulfate 200mg. I have found that after taking just one I get an awful headache
