Yesterday Saw My Nephrologist
Hi Everyone, Yesterday I had an appointment with my nephrologist I was being seen every three months, but my labs in October of last were stable so they had me follow up in 5 months. To my surprise my regular nephrologist left her practice so now I'm under a new Dr's care. My blood pressure was a bit

How can I gain weight on Kidney friendly diet?
I have CKD Stage 3b and am working with a nutritionist and adhering to a kidney friendly diet, but keep losing weight. I have a high metabolism and have always had a problem keeping weight on, but this diet is not providing me with enough high calorie options. My nutritionist advised me to eat more nuts

Vaccine and Prolonged Diarrhea
I had the bivalent Covid vaccine on 27 December (my fifth vaccine). I had noticed in the last couple of years that about two weeks after each vaccine, my bowels acted up a bit but they subsided after taking Normix. But ever since 10 January, which was two weeks after this bivalent vaccine,

Bloods results help please
I went to see my private endo 3 weeks ago and he asked for loads of bloods. I'll post them below but I'm confused as my previous tests on 07/10 showed TSH 2.89 (range 0.35-5.5 um/L) and free T4 14.3 pmol/L (range 10.5-21) - those were done by GPThe last bloods were done on 9/11 at di only a month later

A new randomised study comparing diets
A new randomised study compares a low carbohydrate diet to the DASH diet. The conclusion: the low carb diet wins hands down. https://www.annfammed.org/content/21/3/256

Thinking of our conversation on pred level and how to handle stressful moments to keep adrenal drama at bay....
So things for me and PMR and pred have not gone the way a lot of folks have. I read about when you take the pred in the beginning most have amazing relief then begin the journey of slowly reducing to find the next good dose. Then reading the symptom tea leaves of symptoms to make decisions on the next

Antidepressants and other meds
Hi all, especially Sue who I'm hoping can help. I have at last had blood tests which showed my levels were around 50, which she said wasn't that low, but I'm now on Iron 200mg a day, havibg another blood test in January. Also my sodium levels were little low so was told to use more salt on my food.

Hi, I have Hashimotos for over 10 years and PA for 4 managed by self injecting. In the last month due to quite sudden onset of fatigue, dizziness, and jitteriness with like an internal tremor (which was a key symptom before Low B12 was diagnosed) Saw Dr and got results yesterday and diagnosed as Stage

Ray Peat & Thyroid Wisdom
Hi all :) I've mentioned a few times on this forum that the Keto/carnivore diet is the reason for my devastating decline into overt hypothyroidism where I became unresponsive to synthetics. Since that time, I've used this forum as well as the teachings of American physiologist Ray Peat to educate myself

Has any hypothyroidism or Hashimotos patient tried apillean weight loss supplement?
It can cost £50 to £100 per small tub in some places but it's selling but you can make this yourself at home. Alternatively according to this female doctor I spoke to at pub She said"You can use coffee instead of guarana, you can use nori seaweed if tolerated or kelp or tiny amount of wakame or if

Healthy normal colon at last - update on my story
Following my post nearly a year ago about the success I was having taking Sodium Butyrate I wanted to let you know that it worked! I had my colonoscopy yesterday and the whole colon is healthy with no inflammation or polyps. Seeing as I was ill for 25 yrs and was facing the prospect of having to start

blood tests and DXA scan
Following blood tests and a DXA scan I finally have results from the Endo. Re scan it states: T-scores have been reported as -1.3 at the left neck of fear and -1.9 at the lumbar spine. The calculated 10 years probability of a major osteoporotic fracture and that of a hip fracture is below intervention

Steroids
My friend is on 65mg of pred. steroids. I read that he needs a low salt and low fat diet. Also he needs to eat foods with potassium and he should take Vitamin D. Should he speak to his GP even though the steroids are being managed by his neurologist? Or should he buy over the counter Vitamin D etc?

blood test results
hi everyone I’m just going through my last lot of blood results.. ESR 1mm/hr Neutrophils 8.10 (2.1 - 7.4) Lymphocyte count 0.98 (1 - 3.6) Sodium 128 (should be 135+). Are these anything to be concerned about? My GP wasn’t worried - but just said he’ll recheck the sodium in December 🤔 (Apparently

LDN and PMR
Almost three months into my use of low-dose naltrexone, in hopes of replacing prednisone eventually, I have learned that the power of LDN to combat inflammation, while real, is much less than prednisone, so that at 10mg of prednisone, LDN's ability to replace or even significantly supplement the steroid
