chronic nail biting (new here, warning graphic descriptions)
i've been biting my nails since i was 4/5... i want to get answers quickly so i'll keep this short. it's like whenever i see or feel any growth or length or white edge on my nails my mind is screaming at me to bite, bite bite. i can't stop. the bad-tasting polish does not work as i can ignore the taste

Looking a second coronary bypass surgery
Nuclear stress test results revealed that the arterial grafts I had implanted in my first coronary artery bypass surgery are failing and the odds are that I will need to undergo open heart surgery again. Having had my cognitive capabilities sliced to ribbons by ICU delirium both before and after my first

Waiting times for a CABG
Hi Would anyone know whether the NHS has set targets for heart bypass surgery? Researching online there appears to be guidelines for non-urgent elective surgery giving examples of cataract and hip replacement surgeries which should be conducted within an 18 week period. I also read on an NHS website

Lyme’s disease and RA
I have a question for everyone. Has anyone ever gotten Lyme’s disease after you’ve been diagnosed with RA? If so did it make your RA pain worse following treatment? I found a tick about 4 weeks ago and had slight aches and pains then I found another tick last week now my joints hurt bad and I feel flu-ish

My post op CABG 13 days experience
Just thought I’d let everyone know how thing are going. 13 days ago today I had my CABG x 3 & seemed fine, however my oxygen levels crashed & the only way to rectify this was a mask like a “Darth Vader” one. Delirious by then & totally unaware of anything my daughter said if I’d had boxing gloves I

Cellulitis
I know cellulitis is a bacteria and that this bacteria enters the body via cuts etc to the skin. However I seem to get it without any cuts, dry skin, bruising etc. Anyone else feel this? Anyone know what else to avoid? Or am I fooling myself?

My doctors will drive me to... death due to conflicting medications.
Health insurers hate me. I am on about 15-10 medications. At age 53, I had a small heart attack. I was born with a defective heart valve that was replaced 7 years ago (Afib was the sign it needed replacement). I thought the afib was gone. Then, 2 months ago, that valve was again replaced along with

12 months after Quadruple By-pass
Today is it 12 months since my 4 X CABG and I thought it would be a good time to reflect on my experience. I suppose the first lesson I learnt was not to put off going to the doctors in the first place! I realised some time ago that I was becoming breathless when even doing the most simple tasks. Like

How come after my CABG (13weeks post op) every 2 or 3 days I can easily stay up, sleepless all night?
After my surgery I used to be very concerned about my insomnia... praying, keeping my wife up talking, etc.. now when it happens I just accept it and go into my living room and watch a movie and know that I’ll be up all night and the next day into the night. I’ll probably sleep tomorrow night... when
