I know cellulitis is a bacteria and that this bacteria enters the body via cuts etc to the skin. However I seem to get it without any cuts, dry skin, bruising etc. Anyone else feel this? Anyone know what else to avoid? Or am I fooling myself?

Cellulitis
Sadly this is the case for thousands of people. Especially if the patient has experienced cellulitis before - it can reoccur with no obvious cause.
I see it a lot in clients who shave (mainly women). Or, it can spontaneously occur if the patient is ‘low’ or fighting a viral infection.
All my bouts of cellulitis have come on without any injury or dry skin, I often go to bed feeling fine and wake up in the night feeling unwell temperature and chills that’s the only warning I get. 😩
New research is needed but I guess cellulitis does not attract the funding and high profile of some other conditions.
Yes more research is needed also lymphodema needs more research my doctor still doesn’t take it seriously or my infections.
Like mine did yesterday L2tr, quite an ordeal.
Having another bout of cellulitis and have already taken 14 days of antibiotics, clarithmorycin 500mg, over the weekend it got worse rather than nearly better. To cut a long story short, asked yet again if I could have a stand by of them "you do not need to keep a supply they are no good for your stomach" was the reply. This is the 8th bout of cellulitis I have had since last year. If the person I saw had checked my records properly they would have seen I also take Omprazole which protects the stomach (I also take a lot more tablets for another condition).
Just think some or most G.P's just can not be bothered or are ignorant of us lymphoedema/cellulitis very special people.
Just can’t believe your doctor doesn’t do more for you, doctors don’t seem to realise or don’t seem to care how this illness effects us mentally and physically I asked if I could go on a low dose of antibiotics to try and keep the infections away but just get told no. If we suffer regular bouts of infections we should be able too!
I have had similar experiences. Sometimes the route of infection is obvious, other times less so. I've also suffered repeat infections. Equally if I got an infection every time I got a cut I'd hardly have made it out of bed for the last 40 years. So I just try and keep my skin in decent condition and get on with life.
