London to Birmingham canal walk
A year ago I discovered a brother I never knew existed. I was born in London in 1960 and Mike was born in Birmingham in 1946. We have met in between lockdowns! I have survived three heart attacks, I have been stented, had angioplasty and CABG. My partner Ruby and I felt it would be appropriate to walk

Hello
Hi everyone, I am Jim aged 61 and living on the Isle of Wight with Ruby, my long suffering partner. I have survived three heart attacks, been stented, had angioplasty and a coronary artery bypass graft to the the superior side of my heart as the inferior side was too badly damaged for a graft to be viable

meningitis vaccine
Do CLL patients who have never had meningitis vaccine need two doses? I am asking about the meningitis vaccine for strains ACWY, such as Menactra, not the Hib/MenC vaccine. It looks like two doses are recommended based on google search but my Dr did not mention getting a second dose.

Researchers find 10-minute add-on heart surgery cuts stroke risk by one-third

Boils, Carbuncles and Abscesses
It has been such a long time since I have been in this space or written anything. I had a really nasty flare and and continuous colds that I thought it would never end. Since last year April I have had reoccurring boils and carbuncles. Due to Covid-19 I have not seen a GP because they would not allow

My dad has just recently been diagnosed with CLL. Over the past few months he has been losing a lot of muscle mass especially round his arms. Does anyone have any advice about this? And any tips on how to boost his energy levels? Tom

Dental surgery when on prednisone?
I have had PMR for a year and have slowly tapered from 10 mg to 4 mg prednisone. I’m still tapering very slowly. I can’t tell if my adrenal glands have kicked in again yet or not, but in general I am doing pretty well. I am now scheduled for a tooth extraction that I had been putting off because of Covid

Heart attack (Stemi) and unable to stent because of ectatic Coronary artery
Last August I had a STEMI. A heart attack which resulted in the complete blockage of the Right coronary artery. When they looked via the angiogram/angioplasty they found that the artery was ectatic. That means apparently that it is not uniform in cross section , and not smooth in end to end shape. They
