Gfr of 10 but feeling well - is this possible ?
Hi everyone. My son is 23 and only 4 months ago we learned he had CKD and his gfr was 20. Last week we were told it is now just 10. Aside from occasional tiredness however he is feeling totally fine. No other symptoms of kidney failure at all. Is this normal ? He wants to delay dialysis as long as possible

Gum growth after kidney transplant
Hi, I had a kidney transplant over 2 years ago and recently my gums seem seem to be overtaking my teeth and are quite uncomfortable and bleeding. Is this down to taking prednisolone daily as a steroid?

The Supreme Court acknowledges the value of patient support groups and empowered patients.
"...changes in society, and in the provision of healthcare services, should also be borne in mind. One which is particularly relevant in the present context is that it has become far easier, and far more common, for members of the public to obtain information about symptoms, investigations, treatment

I’ve been taking Aza my whole transplant life. I currently have a 15cm cyst on my liver. Does anyone know what I may be facing at this stage of my journey? Any stories or advice anyone could share, words of encouragement if any would be delightful.

Treatment going ahead for antibody mediated rejection!!
So lady’s and gents, some may remember my post a few weeks ago about being treated with a form of dialysis for antibody mediated rejection, the docs decided to send me home and watch how I go with my tacrolimus levels being high, this has caused a bit of damage to my kidneys and my bloods are much worse

Update on Oxycodone
Hello all my restless friends. I said I would let you know how I fared with starting oxycodone. I have now been taking 5 mg. Longtec (oxycodone) for two weeks. This tablet is slow release over 12 hours. For the first few days I played about with the time of taking and have now settled on 8.00 p.m

Sickle cell and?
I have sickle cell disease and just found out I have chronic fatigue syndrome also called ME. I wanted to find out what other conditions people are dealing with plus sickle cell and how you cope. I have 3 children so I guess you will have an idea as to how I am struggling to cope.

Trying to become pregnant and CKD
Hello! I am in my 30s and was recently diagnosed with CKD3 caused by IgA nephropathy. I would like to become pregnant in the next year. Does anyone have experience they can share with fertility and CKD? Is it possible to become pregnant? What should I be considering? Thanks in advance!

Dual organ transplant better than one?
we've heard that, since he is diabetic, he might get a kidney transplant sooner if he gets on the list for both a pancreas and a kidney transplant. Is that true? Has anyone experienced that?

First follow up test.
Just got my first lab results back after being diagnosed with ckd. My first gfr was 62 but was told i'am stage 3. Maybe because i'am diabetic with heart disease. Just thought any thing above 60 was stage 2. Anyway doctor said he wants me to get blood work every month now. Ive been pretty strict this

Too much protein??!!
I'm 7 months post from kidney transplant, and my nurse they need to redo creatinine and GFR, and that I might have to cut back on protein. Have anyone ever heard that before? Told me if I was going to eat meat with every meal, I should cut back to 3oz, and consider the other foods with protein, like

Puffy eyes?
Hello everyone. I have been diagnosed with IGA nephropathy (CKD3) earlier this year. I have been retaining a lot of fluid and in particular, have very puffy eyes (worse in the morning but puffy throughout the day). I have tried cooling eye masks, cold tea bags, ice, puffy eye cream. All with no improvement
