I was recently diagnosed as stage 3 kidney cancer after a radical nephrectomy. My oncologist told me that kidney cancer cell didn't respond to chemical therapy and radiation therapy, and at my stage, there is only one target medicine, Sutent, that I can try. Sutent doesn't extend the year of survival

Lansoprazole make IBS worse
Bronchiectasis... and the
silent
reflux
causing problems. I’ve had IBS on and off for years but this last year it’s been very bad. Not the “ poo” but the painful cramps, contractions apart from general churning and other sensations.

Bouncing back
Most of the time members hear bad news or questions of concern or confusion so I thought that I might share some positive news. In May I was hospitalized for over a week as my GFR was rapidly dropping. My baseline for the past couple of years has been in the low 30’s. I went into the hospital by ambulance

diagnosed with 'possible' asthma
They also threw in the possibility of
silent
reflux
and I was on ranitidine for a year. Fast forward to now - got sick in Florida, 4th July. As I was flying home to NZ in 5 days, I went to a GP and was treated for bronchitis - ABs.

Upper respiratory tract infection.
Unfortunately I picked up a nasty cough virus, stopped my metojet and Benapali but it didn't clear. Two weeks later after many hours of sleepless nights coughing I rang my Gp for an appt. none available however over the phone he prescribed keflex, an antibiotic which is apparently ok to take with methotrexate

Does this sound familiar to anybody?
Lots of bloating, wind, and some '
silent
'
reflux
. I don't know whether this is associated to the breathing issues, as I often get a tightness in the bottom of my throat, which comes along with the breathing problems.

Copper Coil
I have booked an appointment to have the copper coil (UID) fitted. However I am already on medication for anxiety and I have read about the effects the copper coil can have on the mind and body and I can't afford to be anymore anxious. I am not coping well with the combined pill. I am currently on Cilest

Didn't take my Thyroid meds right and am very sick.
I don't know why I allowed this to happen, but I just a lot on my mind and did not adhere to to all the rules of taking the med effectively. I was taking Synthroid 225 in early morning. Sometimes, I would take it right after a GAs X or something like that and take it with food or other meds. I have

How to cope with an ongoing productive cough
I have had 2 endoscopies - one yielded the opinion that the excessive mucous comes from LPR (
silent
reflux
), and the other endoscopy that it comes from the secretions in my lungs.

Domperidone - has it worked? Scared to try it due to the side effects
I was instructed to take it to prove whether i have
silent
reflux
or not. I am quite uneasy with the side effects mentioned. Has it stopped anyone from coughing? The other reflux tablets have done nothing. Many thanks

Effect of Bed Head Elevation During Sleep in Symptomatic Patients of Nocturnal Gastroesophageal Reflux
[ Poster's comment - This is the verbatim discussion/comment section from a peer-reviewed paper giving the results of a small sample size in-hospital research project. The patients involved were 'normal' IE not post-eosophagectomy or other surgery. The observations regarding pillows/wedges are worthy

Nausea, fatigue and foggy head
Hey, long time since my last post. Every time my period comes round the first couple of days are just another level. I have a foggy/dizzy-like head feeling, nausea and my fatigue goes a notch further - everything in my body feels so much heavier. I’ve had a nap this afternoon before work to help combat
