Ok guys another dilemma ..Reflux and heartburn doing my head in.I have read that omeprazole and Diltiazem could be the cause
I have read that apple cider vinegar alkalizes the stomach and I hoped I could solve my breath problem from the overgrowth of bad bacteria (Small intestinal bacterial overgrowth)
SIBO
which I suffer from but unfortunately I have just read that my much-needed Diltiazen for my Raynaud's could be the cause

IBS or something else?
I'm thinking that it could be
SIBO
? If so, I've heard mixed opinions about taking antibiotics to treat it. I've started taking a probiotic, although I'm not sure it will make a huge difference, and I'm cutting back on carbohydrates.

Has anyone been diagnosed with SIBO (small intestine bacteria overgrowth)
Hello, I have suffered for year with what I was told was IBS, the past two years it has got really worse so I have had lots of tests done etc, today I went for the breath test for
SIBO
and it was a positive, so now they will send a letter to my doctor at the hospital so now sure how long that will take

Does anyone know about SIBO, osteoporosis and B12 deficiency ?
Haven't stopped B12 injections or multivitamin and minerals, as
SIBO
rob you of vitamins B12, A, D, E & (rarely) K.

Zinc Deficiency
Haven't tested for a long time but with the
SIBO
going on and not being able to absorb the nutrients I am eating I thought I would check my zinc again. It's low but not that low is it? 10.1 (11.5-20).

Professor John Hooper
He was researching, so I recall, the impact of bacterial imbalance, rather than
SIBO
, on B12 malabsorption in the ileum. Does anyone happen to know where he got to with this and how far off his research paper might be?

mycotoxins test
Hi all, I have Hashi's, under active thyroid,
SIBO
and Candida. I am working with a Functional Medicine Practitioner and she wants to do a mycotoxins test on me. Not sure why but she suspects mold.

SIBO? issues
Hi, have been on FODMAP for last 4 weeks so IBS symptoms have really improved along with acid reflux/heartburn, although the latter is still an issue but not as bad before I started the diet. Had hydrogen breath test on Monday and my symptoms have worsened considerably even though still following FODMAP

Anaemia Confusion
After complications developed suggesting Crohns or
SIBO
, my gastroenterologist did further tests and Folate had dropped almost to the bottom of the range. This was resolved with Folic Acid supplementation. Crohns and
SIBO
now dismissed and non specific B12 deficiency diagnosed.

Levothyroxine therapy and impaired clearance are the strongest contributors to small intestinal bacterial overgrowth
CONCLUSION The most important contributors for the development of
SIBO
in ascending order are immunosuppression, impairment of intestinal clearance and levothyroxine use, but they do not sufficiently explain its emergence.

Up & down like a yo-yo!!
I think the
SIBO
and Candida I have may have been causing the inflammation and with the help of my FD, on the right supps and stuff, I am hoping that is why they have dropped. Still don't know what to do about my meds though. What do you think people? Many thanks xx

Atrantil review
Atrantil is a herbal medication devised by an American gastroenterologist interested in
SIBO
(small intestinal bacterial overgrowth). It is designed to reduce the number of archaea in the small intestine.

why can't doctors listen
The one thing I really wanted out of the appointment was a
SIBO
breath test, which my GP had told me was available at the hospital but rarely used. The specialist said flatly no, they never use it, because the results aren't very reliable.

Help with SIBO-D Diagnosis
Dear all, I am expecting a positive diagnosis of
SIBO
-D this Thursday evening. I currently have B12 (hydroxycobalamin) injections every 2 months due to neuro damage and take 2000 microgrammes per day of Methylcobalamin, as sublingual.
