Immunosuppressants causing SIBO
So am waiting for the final diagnosis, but following my first clinic visit to GI at King's in London the thought is I have
SIBO
due to the high dose of immunosuppressants I currently take due to my recent liver transplant.

Metabolics appointment yesterday- think I've been undiagnosed again ! Blood tests done: ??
Well, it did look as if
SIBO
and/or coeliac disease was going to be the answer to 3 years of continuing symptoms and deficiencies in B12, iron, folate, and osteoporosis of the spine..... and now perhaps not !

I desperately need the
SIBO
test. Not sure if i can get it in the NHS and not sure how long I can wait. Please let me know your experience and the costs in the private clinics in or around London. Thanks.

Well raised T3 and lowered T4 this past week...
I am doing a
SIBO
breath test this week. However, as this stomach problem has reoccurred, by lowering to t4 100 that's the end of that plan of thinking to get my TSH to rise! I believe the increased t3, ensured it was not as bad as the first attempt when i was on t4 100 and 5 t3.

Need advice from SIBO patients please.
So, my question; Is anyone on here currently being 'treated' for
SIBO
, how has their GP (I'm in the UK) been, are they open to the concept of
SIBO
or totally dismissive? Basically I'm approaching the GP this week to discuss and ask for the breath test.

IBS-C Sibo ( Methane Gas Detected )
Hi all, can any one recommend a Consultant Gastroentologist in the UK that recognises Methane gas
Sibo
and will treat the problem? After doing six months very low carb diet and expensive supplement regime I found no improvement.

digestive issues
which has confirmed small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (
SIBO
) which I had suspected for some time. Despite awful experiences with antibiotics I decided to try the Rifaximine the doctor's suggested.

Question about my thyroid
Also I've had gut issues including
SIBO
, but this is treated and I have no gut issues anymore. I'm not on thyroid medication. We tested Naturethroid, but it wasn't suitable for me possibly because of the
SIBO
at the time (9 months ago) and the T3 being too much for me.

SIBO: akin to leaky gut; Small Intestine Bacterial Overgrowth. Difficult to treat, though found info on Lugol's Iodine? Can we do iodine?
Now considering the possibility of having
SIBO
as well.. Looked it up on line. Found references to Lugol's Iodine. Iodine, the double edged sword. Do we or don't we...yet we get told to eat seaweed? I am confused, fed up, not feeling well and seriously running out if patience.

Some new problems and some new questions : can anyone help?
Breath test revealed either
SIBO
or fast transit through bowel, either of which could explain low iron, folate, B12 : 3) Raised MMA linked to
SIBO
: yes/no?

abdominal pains on lying down
I am awaiting a breath test for
SIBO
( small intestinal bacterial overgrowth). The pains vary in intensity - some nights not too bad , other nights worse- and range from a hollow ness to a feeling of being too full....??!! no obvious specific food connection. I cant get a handle on this at all .

Confusion over whether PA is just about hemoglobin or gastro parietial cells - how do you get diagnosed?
Hi, I am rather confused as to how you diagnose PA - I feel I aquired it after a bad bout of
SIBO
where Ive already had long term low b12 (nerve damage) and my folate level was at 3.6 (Im taking methyl folate now) and my body ended up going into multi organ failure My colon swelled up, as has my spleen
